Super Bowl Sunday? Ho Hum for Our Family...But!

Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 8th is here. I'm sure many of you are excited to watch the game this afternoon but the big excitement for Bill and I was....um, doing laundry! Not fans at all, I don't even like hearing it in the background so will not be attending the 'party' at the clubhouse. Those that do, will have fun though!

Good or Great Morning!

We had our clothes sorted and loaded into 2 machines by 7:30 and after Bill left for the field, I had them dried and folded by 9:15. All done for another week. Gibbs and I went for our walk around the outside perimeter of the park and we were both happy to get back. Already warm.

When he reached the shade of our neighbour's rv, he plopped. I deduced that he just wanted to sit so we sat outside under the canopy for about an hour. It gave me time to do a quick mani and pedi (paint only) which was long overdue.

Back home, in the shade,
my toenails and fingernails
got attention.
Never perfect but an improvement.

I debated whether to walk to the clubhouse - just over there - but since we were invited out for Taco Tuesday and we are on duty Tuesday, I decided to make my pie today.

Once again, Gibbs was so good.

I cleaned up all of the baking dishes, I seem to have used a lot of mixing bowls today! 😀 When that was finished and the pie in the fridge to keep it cool, Bill returned home for lunch. We've planned Happy Hour out at K & K's this afternoon so just relaxed until then.

We have another glorious day in the Arizona 'desert'. I slept wonderfully last night with my little side window open and never heard a thing until 5:55 this morning. These are the kind of days I love, hot during the day and cooling off to mid-50's farenheit or 12ish in celcius.

At 2:30 Bill loaded our chairs in the back of Black Beauty and packed a cooler with drinks and Gibbs' treats. I chose, today, to sit in the sun. I'm missing out on that this winter. Partly because of the silly weather, partly because of our busy-ness and partly because of our shaded patio but probably mostly because I have found other indoor things to do!

So, we gathered at Roadrunner blm with Ken, Kim, Dave, Joan, Tom & Deb and had a wonderful 'pretend' super bowl party of our own. No loud cheers were present, no snacks (which is how we like our happy hours to be for the most part) and no overpowering sports talk. We had fun.

I tested a new drink - the lime margarita - that I bought at Sam's Club on Wednesday. It is made with tequila, comes in a can and was quite favourable! Hmm, all it needed was salt on the rim. 🍸 you get the drift. We left the group by 5:30 and by 6, we were eating delicious omelets on toast/tortilla.

Gibbs is always quieter on the
way home. I guess at this point,
he knows what to expect. 

Bill finished charging plane batteries for the morning and I finished my blog by 7. This was a great day! 84F/26C. It makes me sad for our family and friends back home, experiencing -21C/-6F. I hope they soon get a break in that freeze.

before we left so it was quick and easy.
Also, very tasty for a change!
Bill had his in a western and my choice
of a 
breakfast-style quesadilla hit the spot.
