Puzzling, A Sandal Woops! Buddy's Birthday

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Feb. 26th this lazy bones stayed in bed again until 7:30. Later would be a sin for me but this felt good. We enjoyed the first 3 hour episode of Survivor but I was still in bed by 9:30........and dropped off immediately.

Good morning!

We'd had the a/c running all day, trying to keep the Suite at a moderate 77F/23C. Last night, when it was cooler outside than in, we turned the bedroom a/c on upstairs, turned the downstairs off and opened windows down here. By the time I went to bed, it was still 78F/23C up there but without the duvet and windows open - perfect.

No complaints about this forecast.
We like the 90's/30's

I got dressed and Gibbs and I slipped out around 9 for his walk. It was pleasant enough this morning for him but back home, we'd closed windows and set the a/c for 75F again to keep it at an even keel. The forecast over the next 4 days is in the low to mid 90's so we'll be using power a fair bit.

It was time to start a puzzle so I walked over to say good morning to Sue and drop off a couple of greeting cards for mailing. I picked a nice, colourful puzzle again, of course! I'm not bug-eyed - yet! When I stepped out our door, I slipped on the second step, missing the bottom one completely.

These sandals have been a favourite for
a very long time and I bought them 2nd hand!
Time to say goodbye.

When I got to the clubhouse, I saw what happened. My sandals, that I've had for over a decade, finally gave up the ghost. They have long since been Gibbs initiated and starting to rip (if rubber rips) in a couple of places. Today the 'toe tongue' (?) broke. Into the trash they went.

Aptly called 'Night and Day'
I love how they did this.

When Bill got home from flying, 10:30ish, he took me to Salvation Army and then Carol's Closet for a second pair......no luck. I did get to poke around S.A. for the first time since November 2025. He dropped me off and ran a couple of errands too.

A paper quilling group I joined on FB
prompted the question of how we separate
our colours so I shared my picture of
the little pouches I bought.
Nice and organized, all in one carryall.

I found a couple of ice cube trays to try (our ice maker quit) and a couple of craft ideas for quilling so the trip wasn't wasted. I should be able to do something with them, methinks. 🤔 Bill and I had lunch back home and I had Madame IP cook up some hard boiled eggs. We haven't had egg salad for a while.

While my Sweeties snoozed, I started my blog, then walked back to work on the puzzle. I thought this one would be hard so I was surprised to get a whole corner filled in. It is called Night and Day and i think you will understand why with the above picture of the poster.

This started out easier than I expected.
I guess the top part will be the challenge.

I worked on it until about 3:45 and returned home. The a/c was keeping the Suite at a reasonable temp, one that we could bear without being too cold in here. 75 is a good temperature. Since it is Thursday, there was no necessary planning for supper. I took a dish of my cabbage stew out of the freezer.

Bill wasn't thinking there would be any flying tonight because of the wind speed of 12 mph still. He sat and did some cross words in the book I got him for Christmas and I read more of my Satellite Sisters book. It is fun, so relative to my family in ways.

This was my supper. Yum.
I didn't snack at Games Night
but when I left I brought 3 of the
little rolled candies home for Bill and
a handful of sweet and salty treats for me.
The fat content of the soup (only meat) wasn't enough to stop
my tummy from grumbling later but I resisted
and went to bed with nothing else.

I had some soup and a slice of my bread (of which we are well stocked now!) and at 5:45 walked to the clubhouse. I put a couple more pieces in the puzzle until Stephanie, Linda, Anne Marie and Sue arrived. It was nice that Renee joined us too!

We played Trivial Pursuit - Family Edition, a donation from Steph but I did so lousy with my foggy brain that I was quite embarassed when we were done. It won't be on my games list again; I don't need to be reminded of my setbacks more than each day already shows me. 😒

Funny how I can do crafting, be creative, get as technical as I need to on the computers BUT sometimes common sense and things I should know, have gone far by the wayside. The words just aren't there even after all the word games I play. LOL We played Rummikub until 8:30 and returned home.

I didn't feel tired and because Bill turned the playback of the first episode of The Voice on (thanks Elva for the tip), I sat with him and watched it. It just started last Monday so we didn't miss any more than that. I stayed up playing Rummikub on my phone until 11:30!

It was a great day hot, hot, hot but the breeze made it bearable. I wish I could send some home to melt that white stuff! We only have 4+ weeks before starting our pack up for home.

Happy Birthday, Pat!
I hope it was a perfect day for you!

Lastly but not leastly..........my Buddy, Pat, celebrates a birthday today. We have shared many moments together in our short 11 years of knowing each other but they have all been meaningful. We clicked from the get-go and the bond is strong.

Another great memory. 2018
