The Days are Flying By - Punxsatawney Phil

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Feb. 2nd the talk around town was about whether Punxsatawney Phil saw his shadow. Well, not really, but the chatter on my family site back home was talking about our Ontario groundhog!

Good morning!

This morning, we sat and relaxed
before we needed to make an appearance
at the clubhouse.
Funny to see ourselves on our Wyze
security camera.

It is funny that we put our trust in a rodent. Anyway, 6 more weeks of winter no matter how you look at it. Here? No problem! It was a chilly 46F/7C when I got up this morning around 7 but the day was promising to be a hot one by mid afternoon.

So, we heard from the couple who
were to arrive yesterday.
Thankfully, this was not them but it is
the cause of their delay.
This accident on I-95 near Needles, CA
caused 3 deaths and other injuries.
Very sad, slow down people!
Our couple were detoured many miles
and hours out of their way.

After breakfast, I walked over just before 9 to the office. We had a call last night, after hours, from a reservation holder about coming in early so I wanted to be sure my assumption was correct. Today is our poker pool and it was a busy morning. Nice to have 6 players today although we missed A.M.

I managed to finish 6 little
Wiggle (Worry) worms yesterday.
They received their eyeballs today.

Thankfully, Sue and I 'piggy-backed' with answering walk-ins and phone calls. I was grateful for the help, seemed I was messing up a few things and having the manager in my back pocket was a huge relief! We played - oh, maybe 6 games and I came out the winner today with a mere 5 points!

It's a busy one but I'm enjoying it.

After lunch, Gibbs squeezes in behind
me in my chair and checks
how secure we are.
Good thing!

After lunch, things were not much quieter for us in the office but the day sure zipped by. I was able to get the puzzle border finished and a fair bit of work done in the middle. It is only 750 pieces but lots of activity which will make it interesting.

When the sky starts performing,
Gibbs hears a lot of "I'll be right back"
and waits at the door while I snap
pictures.

One thing he understands is
Mom takes a lot of pictures.
💕

I closed the office at 4 and walked home while Bill took a final run around the park. It has been a good day, I have to admit that I enjoy helping out in the office. We reached our high of 82F/25C and with the few clouds around, it could be a lovely sunset.

Supper was pretty good, although
it wasn't the best asparagus. Some stringy bits.
We had an ice cream cone for dessert.
Tillamook - it's da best!

We had air-fried shrimp and fries (Bill) for supper. I had some asparagus instead of the fries although it was hard to turn them down. I snuck one off Bill's plate when he wasn't looking. 😉 Gibbs has been very good and Bill took him for his afternoon walk.

I took a walk back to the park entrance
for these pictures.
Gorgeous!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. I'm glad we have our own groundhog in the west, he didn't see his shadow so things are looking good for us :-)

    1. Ha ha, don't put your money on him! Sometimes they lie. 🤣

  2. There but for the Grace of God, go I. On Hwy 247 ... guy passed on a double yellow line and I've no idea why I survived. Prayers for all involved. Lucky for your campers, they just had to find a way around. I pay a lot more attention now when driving on two lane roads.

Lucky for YOU, you get sun no matter what Phil predicts! I'm hoping the new guy was wrong this year!! I'm rather tired of the fog.

    1. We all do take our life in our hands when venturing out on the road. It can be scary, trusting others the way we do.

Yes, back home, not so lucky. Oh well, it's why we come!

  3. I've never quite understood the 6 weeks of winter prediction. In Saskatchewan, we would be thrilled that winter was only going to last that long. :)
What a horrible accident, the families of those involved must be devastated.
I think it's great you are enjoying the work in the office. It sounds like the work can be quite interesting.

    1. Thanks Maebeme. I know the whole thing is silly. It's 6 weeks until spring no matter how you look at it. Sorry Willie.
I do enjoy the work. Sue is a great 'boss', my errors are (her words) 'no big deal'. She can fix them easy.

    1. That's right. Everyone has to be ahead of everyone else........I don't know which ones died, the passers or the ones just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's sad.
Thank you, the worry worms are fun!

  5. We had an accident here in Alberta. Three young hockey players were killed as they tried to enter highway 2 from a side road. It brought back memories of the accident involving two of our hockey teams over the years.
Lovely weather you are having. I wish we would only have 6 weeks of winter left.... One can hope here in Saskatchewan.

    God bless.

    1. It is just terrible. We are on the alert at every turn but it still can happen in an instant.
We are having great weather, Jackie. Yes, I'm sure you would love that. Predictions, just silly.
