Poker Pool, Trying to Keep up the Walks

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Feb. 23rd we both woke up at 6:20 to the sound of Gibbs about to be sick. We react quickly mainly to get him off the bed and onto the floor, just in case. Often, it doesn't happen on time but today it did.

Good morning!
Do you like the Angel?
My active imagination is running havoc
with the clouds these days.

It could be any number of things that upsets their tummy but Bill got dressed and took him for his walk and he was just fine. I went back to bed until 7:30 and enjoyed every last minute of that. Bill got ready to go flying and left before 8, I think, as usual.

I've reverted to putting Gibbs'
harness on when we walk and it makes
the world of difference.
He stays on the path and doesn't get
tangled in the leash.

I hopped in the shower before I had my tea, forgetting completely about yogourt. Gibbs and I went for his walk around the block and I could feel that it was already warming up. At 9:20, I took my stick over to poker pool.

Tom and Deb left this morning.
Deb went ahead with the Jeep.

We were all a bit slow arriving today but although we were missing Anne Marie and Linda, 5 of us enjoyed ourselves. One game was unreal. We were all down to one card and we were all holding the 8. When Angie pocketed the ball, we all went out at the same time. That has never happened! 😂

These are so good and mine was
still keto! We'll do it more often.

Bill was making lunch when I got home a few minutes past 12. An old favourite that he mentioned the other night. Cheese and bacon on buns. We used to do them in the oven but since we don't have an 'oven', persay, he figured out a way. They were delicious! I had mine on 2 pieces of keto bread. Yum!

A couple of hours on the puzzle made
a big difference.

Gibbs and I took a short walk.
He didn't like the heat and kept going
to the shade. He gets a hair cut next week!
Just in time.

I have a correction from last night's post. I said that we were likely going to have chips and cheddar cheese as a snack later in the evening. When 8:15 rolled around, we both averted our cravings and skipped the snack! I was so proud of us. Bill had a yogourt and I had one licorice stick. No promises tonight though. 🤭

I haven't walked this way yet
this winter.
It's a residential area along the desert,
best of both worlds.

If money was no object, I would buy
a house in the Arroyos community.
This one is gorgeous with her flowers
along the fence.

Alternatively, also facing the desert,
there is a Seniors complex, one floor
which is nice too.

I worked on the puzzle for a couple of hours and Bill and Gibbs puttered here at home. Our friends, Tom and Deb, pulled out today but we'll continue to see them over the next few weeks as they've only moved out to Roadrunner Blm.

Sometimes, life is just too hard
or we get old.
Losing these Saguaros always
saddens me. This one was probably
over 100 years old.

At 4, I took Gibbs for a short walk, his choice, and went for a longer one myself around the residential homes to the east. Now that I've started a bit of a routine, I don't want to lose track of it. We had grilled sausages for supper. Bill had his on a bun and we both had salads on the side. They were good!

Here, I'm on the home stretch.
The arrow points out the park.

It has been a lovely day. Warming, just like they promised. A high of 82F/25C today, just a tip of the iceberg for the next week plus. Works for me! We had a great day.

The salad is bland but it used up a
lot of my fresh veggies. The
sausage was grilled to perfection!
Tender, juicy and pink.
Good night!

Thank you for popping by.

These are the Days! Laundry Done for Another Week

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Feb. 22nd I woke up hearing Bill in the shower. I probably should as well, but not today. We had the laundry sorted and the 2 loads in the machines by 7:15. I was done and back home at 9.

Good morning!
This was last night's sunset
'after' I posted.

I did catch the last 10 minutes of the Canada/US hockey game in the clubhouse. Team Canada did well but lost out within 4 minutes of overtime. Darn! I'm sure it was a heart pumping game though for those of you who watched it all.

This was this morning's sky,
Use your imagination. It looks to me
like a hot air balloon and basket.

And this.
Beautiful.

Gibbs and I went for his walk, around the block again, and it is already warming up. I'm glad I changed into a tee and shorts before we headed out. Bill had gone to the field first thing, happy to do that after 6 days of non-flying!

So, Gibbs and Poppy sat with me.
I'm still mightly impress with how good she looks.
Goat and Rocky are on the floor at my feet.
3's Company, 5's a crowd.

He was home by 10:15 and since I'd planned to walk to Family Dollar, he offered to drop me off on his way to pick Ken and Peter up. They'd made plans to go to Yuma's Arizona Market to check out ball caps for their club.

At the north end of the park,
someone has put out a seed block for
the birds. Far enough away as not to
attract unwanted critters to the park.
Here, the doves are enjoying breakfast.

Decision time, which way?
He looks fluffy, Mom gave him a nice
coat brushing before we walked.

I found a couple of things at FD and had a leisurely walk back home. It was a lovely day. I sat at my table and planned a couple of projects to quill. I took Nancy's suggestion into consideration and decided that a butterfly made more sense with the flower.

Finally, I'm happy with it!

For lunch, I made myself a breakfast wrap with bacon, egg and salsa. It was messy but yummy and within my 'diet' boundaries. I was feeling good about my choices over the last 3 days. Gibbs and I sat outside for a while and after he wanted indoors, I stretched back in my patio chair.

Half a walk is better than none.
Thanks Sweetie for the lift!

Bill was home around 3 and we drove out to Roadrunner blm for an impromptu happy hour. I have been bound and determined to enjoy this warm weather and sunshine and sitting out there with the group fit that bill!

Gibbs walking back and forth with
his water dish. He wouldn't relinquish it
to anyone, just back and forth 5 or 6 times.

Gibbs, once again, was a good little boy, giving us all a chuckle as he carried his foldable water dish around amongst us. What a goof!

Then he found Joan's water bottle.
He hasn't had a diet Coke for a while
so we left him alone after taking
the cap and ring off.

We tried but didn't succeed in solving all the world's problems, but we did all agree on our dietary changes over the years. 😉

Sitting on the south side of the
Journey, it was a nice Happy Hour.
Notice, Gibbs posing with his bottle.

It was just before 5:30 when we packed up our chairs, cooler and puppy and headed home. A simple supper was grilled cheese and I was surprised to feel so hungry for them. I think there will be some 'cheating' later with some chips with cheddar cheese.

Grilled cheese with onion.
Yummy.

This has been a really nice day. We reached a high of 76F/22C with mostly clear skies all day. I hope you have enjoyed your day too.

Sometimes pictures just turn out perfect.
The top one here made me smile.
Good night!
