Finding my Creative Side

 The Ridge

On Thursday, July 3rd I was wide awake at 6 when I heard Bill and Gibbs get up. I was in bed last night before 9:30, still catching up on some zzz's, I guess. It was a great sleep with windows open and just the sheet over us.

Good morning!

I had to clean the Mat and it worked out that we were both ready within 5 minutes of each other. Bill says it had rained overnight, which I slept through, and we had a couple of good showers between 6 and 7am before it cleared up for the day.

The Mat was still locked, it opens automatically at 7, so I used my key and unplugged the blaring radio. I know who does that and it drives me nuts. It didn't take me long to message Sandy to take it out. 😉

I was anxious to get home and start
Robin's hanging for the bnb.

A radio in there isn't necessary, although it is nice to have background noise when I'm cleaning. Get it gone, is my thought. Trudy arrived as I was beginning to mop the floors so we caught up on our crafts again and had a good old chit chat.

These were much better today.
With the extra egg and a bit more flour,
they were crisped up nicely.

Back home, regardless of the day's weather, I was going to start on Robin's Newfoundland wall hanging. A Puffin was one suggestion and that is what I chose to do. They are such cute birds and it was fun to work on. I sat outside in the sun and got a bit burnt.....oops!.......but I made great progress.

You can hardly see the flag at the mailbox
but all 3 are flying proud at the road.

After lunch, for which I had the cabbage patties and they turned out awesome today, I went back out to the picnic table. Winds picked up so I had to make sure my paper strips were all tucked under things so I didn't lose them. 😀

Only when I said
"do you want to go get the mail?"
did he come outside and head down
the laneway.

Today, Kermit was sitting in the lane track.
I wished I'd put my video on for when
Gibbs touched his butt. It was hilarious!
Gibbs jumped back about 2 feet!

Gibbs, for some reason, chose to stay indoors for most of the day. ??? That's odd but he knows best what Gibbs wants and I was able to fully concentrate on my creation without making sure he was okay. He sleeps up on the bed and can see out two windows if he needs to.

I brought flowers back from my walk

Gibbs brought back a goose feather.

I had no bugs bothering me until about 30 minutes before I quit. I guess they like the smell of my shampoo/conditioner after my shower. LOL

The gate garden and fenceline
lilys are doing great.

No wonder he loves the walks down the lane.
Actually, he does this no matter where he walks.
Such a character.
It was 4:30 when I was just finishing and Bill drove in at 5. He dozed before supper, fish and chips and Swiss chard for me. That is one thing my garden is giving me!😐😀

A bigger pot next year, for sure.

My oldest sister, Cathy, had hip replacement surgery this morning so I chatted briefly with her and 3 sisters on Messenger to make sure she was ok. She did fine but will stay in for a few days because of a mini stroke after surgery. She's ok, so that is great.

Bill commented the other day
how all our apple trees are laden
with fruit. He wasn't kidding!
This one at the road is full.

I nipped over to Robin's after 7 to give her the Nfld hanging. She loved it and neither of us could come up with a price so I left it with her to take on their flight tomorrow. She will be gone for 2 weeks and we'll settle on a cost when she returns. I have 2 more to make. 😁

Making it up as I went, I had no room for a whale
because my Puffin was so big.
But he's cute, huh?
Robin loved it and loved the little birds.

We reached a pleasant 22C/72F today with blue skies and the odd fluffy white clouds. I loved it. It will be a quiet night, with either tv or my book. I have another non-work day tomorrow so will cut grass up here so the weekend is free.

A tasty little supper.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. The entrance and fence line look great and you can even see your custom signage this year, lol. Love your crafting efforts. I'm finding practice makes perfect on the "making" - the more you do the better the results.

    1. Thank you, we do love our entrance. I know I need improvement and I'm terrible at making things to scale.
