A Couple of Jobs, Our Friends Pull Out, Remembering Rob

The Ridge

On Friday, Aug. 1st we all slept in. Bill and Gibbs woke up at 7. I saw the time and rolled over for another few minutes. When next I looked at the clock, it was 8:05. Holy crap! I guess I was tired, must have been the Bocce Ball game. Right, Kim?

Good morning!

It wasn't a big deal, I guess my body knew that and I rested well when I could. Gibbs and I had not got the mail yesterday, so we walked down to the mailbox. An expected letter arrived from Traveller's Choice regarding our travel insurance.

Let's go get the mail

Because we have purchased from them, every summer at the end of July, we get a notice with an offer to secure a decent rate for the winter travel. Well, none of it is decent but a bit of a savings at least. That's what came so Bill and I will have to look at the offers and go from there.

You would think they'd know my
name by now.
I wonder who Patrutua is?

Ken and Kim were packed up and ready to pull out around 10. Ken pulled their Journey up to the dump station and when ready, hugs and goodbye pictures finished the visit. It is always sad to see them leave, we enjoy their company but it is nice not to overdo it too. 😆 They know they are welcome anytime.

Bill sure leaves the front field looking
nice after a cut.
My red Dahlia is nice too.

At 10:30, I picked M up for his town run and when I returned, I made a coffee and packed a small bag of cheese and nuts for lunch.

So long for now!

I was at Robin's house picking up the washed quilts she left out for me. Williamsford was a nice surprise, where the guests actually slept between the sheets. (*thank you*)

Someone trying to get attention
He doesn't get enough ya know.
😉

I was done cleaning in an hour and headed home. The traffic was picking up, to and from the bnb on Hwy #6, so I was glad to be off it and back home  by 2.

I had a helper for a little while.

Bill was down in the field with the Cub Cadet and wagon picking up pre-cut branches while I was gone. He'd cut them a while ago but it was too wet since to gather them up.

My quilling has kind of taken over
puzzle making right now.

I went into the Bunky to paper quill. No special projects, just making things in the event an occasion arises. 😊 Bill was working down in the Hangar and Gibbs was keeping an eye on both of us, somewhere in the middle. 💕

At 3:30 he came inside and at 4, I moved to my lounger in the tent to finish my book. Another great J.A. Jance story. I was getting hungry so came inside at 5:30 to discuss what we'll have. I have 3 ripe tomatoes so that was an easy decision.

An easy supper.

Today in town, I picked up sweet corn but that would be for another night. It seems all of a sudden, local corn is ready. At .25¢ each, I bought 4 for now. Supper was good, really good for such a simple meal. Toasted bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwiches on my keto bread. Yum.

Of course, we deserved dessert (just because) so since Ken was gone with his super delicious butter tarts, we each had ice cream. A good second choice and we won't complain since we got 2 tarts before they left. 😉 Keep up the great baking, hint, hint, Ken!

If you pay close attention to the second vehicle                                   approaching me, you'll see him flash his                                                 lights at me. Sure enough, further down the road, a                            police officer was watching. I wasn't speeding                                           more than 10 km over so wasn't concerned.

Bill has been watching past episodes of Bosch so while my blog is being written at night, I catch a bit of that in the evening. However, tonight at 7:30 ish, I  will be outside to where my Moonflowers are planted. I have had 2 bloom since Monday and I've missed each one. If this one blooms tonight, I'll see it. 🤞

Nope, not tonight.

Bill went to the Hangar to close things up and maybe watch tv while working on his plane. He is getting the Aeronca Sedan close to the final stages of building.

Remembering our good buddy/friend,
Rob, on his birthday.
He sure was a character.
Happy Heavenly Birthday Rob.

Today, was perfect! Another 22C/72F day with mostly sunny skies and light wind. I love these days.

Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  2. Your bunky is sure a great little space. It's nice to be able to keep things out where they are easily accessible. I'm sure Gibbs is a great help. :)
My brother says no more than 8 kms. over (he has friends in the RCMP). Perhaps OPP is little more lenient.

  3. Our Moonflowers are very different. They are white and have morning glory shaped leaves. This is the first year I haven't planted any in probably 10 years. I will do so next year as a package of seeds is much less costly than the flowers I got this year.

    God bless.

  4. Oh too bad about the moon flower, don't think I've seen one! BLT's are the best! No guilt either. Gibbs is such a cutie! :)
