And it's Fall - Feels like it! Family Birthday

 The Ridge

On Tuesday, Aug. 19th I was able to get some extra zzzz's. Bill was up and ready for work at 6:30. I came down for my kiss and went back to bed with Gibbs.

It was 7:30 when next I looked at the clock. Nice! We got up and I made my tea. It was a miserable morning, somewhere around 13C/57F and damp.

Good morning!
This was the view 80% of the day.

Yesterday, Bill had turned the furnace on for a couple of cycles while we had our showers but not this morning. Trying not to be wimpy as I dressed in warm joggers and a hoody. 🤭 I also got warmed up by vacuuming throughout, such a big place ya know!

Picture on the left,
he edged his way from behind me to my lap.
Picture on the right,
a discussion:
Mom: you know I can't do any work with you on my lap,
you need to get down.
Gibbs: Are you talking to me?

Knowing the weather wasn't about to change all day, I went to the Bunky and brought in enough quilling supplies to work in the Suite.  I did have a helper, well, wait a minute! He just wanted to cuddle. Bless his little❤️.

The day didn't change, only got wetter and never got above 15C/59F. We can't say we didn't get much rain, my plants are singing, I'm sure that's what I hear. After lunch, which I ate beside my supplies, I went right back at it.

When I got word on Bill's Amazon site that my parcel was delivered, Gibbs and I walked to the mailbox to collect it. We went at the right time, it rained again 10 minutes later.

I won't complain about the rain
and it isn't 'that' cold.....just damp.

It's a simple midi/maxi summer dress that I've had my eye on for a while. It fits perfect for 23$ with the exchange included.  I love it. I put together an apple crisp with half of yesterday's apples and froze the remainder and baked it before Bill got home at 3:30.

I know, you have seen enough but,
hey, I'm proud. This is yesterday and today's
bookmarks.

For supper, I baked chicken thighs, potatoes and had a veggie for each of us. Everything tasted great, the chicken was done perfectly with a crispy skin. Yum. Our dessert was enough to make us both moan with pleasure (haha!). Oh my, it was so good!

No keto here.....
well, I did use Splenda.

My results today from quilling leaves me with a total of 15 bookmarks and 3 more greeting cards done. 🤗 I'm pleased with them all. I may have to start selling them.......maybe next summer.

I started a couple of greeting cards.
I like the birds in the bottom one.

My little brother, Michael, is celebrating a birthday today. He is in Cold Lake, Alberta, so I asked my sil to video him opening his homemade card for me. He is a man of few words but he messaged that he liked it at least! 💖 He races his car, named Ruckus', against 'time' so here is what I made.

Thank you Crystal for the live video!
Happy Birthday Michael!
Sending love from Ontario.

We cleaned up from supper and Bill made his lunch. We enjoyed the evening together. We didn't get warmer than 15C/59F today and will be dropping a degree overnight with it warming up and drying up tomorrow again. 😃

No rhyme or reason for this picture.
It just made me laugh out loud.
With that note,
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!

  1. A rainy day sounds good to me! (just 1 though)!! Nice price on your dress. The detail on your quilling is ...... WOW !!! Maybe Gibbs needs a little brother or sister to play with! Maybe a hobby for him......no ideas. Maybe let Chippy in the house every afternoon! :))
