The Ridge
On Sunday, Aug. 24th we were awake at 6 and up around 6:30. Duncan is an early riser so was already up and in the Kitchen Bunky.

Good morning!
We had breakfast and our tea and coffee with him and then Patty joined us around 8. Bedtime is early there, so I was surprised that I slept in even that long. Of course, I never sleep the same in other beds.

Duncan had told us that we would get awakened by the sunrise through our windows if we weren't up yet. Even though we'd been up, I had to get a picture anyway.
I caught the beautiful rising of the sun across the river, just gorgeous to watch. We were packed and in the boat, (he needs to name it!) by 9:15. The 40 minute journey across the water was cool for Patty and I, sitting on the bow, but it was quite bareable.

Their sleep Bunky is no bigger than ours but it has a nice porch for sitting and looking at the river with a coffee. 💗
We said our goodbye, used the facilities at the marina and headed back at 10:15. We'd given Gibbs his Gravol pill at 7 and after getting off the boat, which he doesn't mind at all, he was totally quiet on Ptooties.🥰

My heart is full with these special boys. Sitting in the Kitchen after breakfast.

I don't know how I missed this pix from yesterday's post. Duncan and Bill cleaned up the supper dishes for us without even a hint from us!
We stopped for a filling and delicious (& expensive) take out fish and chips lunch at 11:30 and then after a stop for fuel, arrived home at 3 pm. We had a wonderful weekend!

The traffic was quite busy on the main roads. We avoided Wasaga Beach this time, not sure why our gps took us that way on the way out.
We were unloaded and unpacked by 3:30 and both rested for the remainder of the day. Friends and family were notified of our safe retirement and a few zzzzz's dropped by. 😂😴

This little guy didn't eat since Thursday night but cleaned up his food dish when we got home. Funny puppies. Good night!
No need for a big supper so may just have dessert.
Thank you for stopping by!

Looks and sounds as if you had a wonderful time on your get away. Welcome home.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie! We sure did!
DeleteWonderful ~ everything! :) Thanks for taking all the pics! I grew up on a lake so the sunrise was the BEST! Thanks for letting us ride along with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us!
DeleteThat sounds like my kind of place. I'd be staying there every day I could. Mr. Gibbs was a good boy, but maybe a little too nervous to eat. That was a great trip!
ReplyDeleteIf you can live off grid for a length of time, absolutely! I would want more 'power' and a tv or at least music. 🤭
DeleteYour friends have a nice setup at their camp. Separate areas for sleeping and eating is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGlad Gibbs is back on his feed.
I totally agree about the separate rooms. They are equipped for anything and water sports as well! Thank you, I'm happy the little guy is eating now.
