Don't Complain, Don't Complain!

 The Ridge

On Sunday, Aug. 10th it was another hot morning. We'd left the a/c on last night, although I don't know how often it came on, set at 75F. With the duvet pulled down, I slept well with just a sheet over me. I didn't ask Bill, he isn't an 'all-night' sleeper anyway.

Good morning!
Last night's bloom on the left.
This morning, I realized that our solar light
DID play a part in bloom prevention on the right.
It stopped halfway through the process.
I moved the light so we'll see if it continues tonight.

The air outside was not cooling down, 19C/69F, so no point in opening windows. We sorted laundry last evening so as soon as I was ready, and Bill was ready to go flying, I followed him out of the lane. Gibbs got his 'look after the house' treat.

When I went to hang the clothes,
I noticed a furry  blonde blob in the grass
at the bottom of the berm.
A closer look - it's tail was wagging so
of course, a tummy rub was in order.
So darned cute!
(wrapped around his finger? nah)

Two customers today, Dollar Store Dave and the chatterer. Both are very nice and just like to talk, I won't complain. 😊 I made short work of cleaning and collected our damp clothing and headed for home.

I was embarrassed with how dirty
she was, so a diy in town got her spiffy again.
6$ in coin.πŸ˜€

Ptooties was really dirty so I veered down to the car wash for a clean up. Back home, I wiped her down properly. She is happy again. I felt it to be very hot outside so sat inside with Gibbs, reading my book.

It was a pretty sky today, and
not too bad in the shade - this morning.

After a while, I had to shake myself awake and out of the laziness. I made a coffee and we went out to the screen tent for close to an hour. The breeze was nice if you were in the shade but Gibbs found it hot enough to want inside. I didn't want to complain so let him in and I stayed out in the shade on the patio.

Gibbs waits for Daddy
in 'our' shared chair.

The clothes were drying quickly on the line, no doubt of that. We were already reaching 29C/85F by noon hour. Bill was home at 12:30, made his lunch and we all drove over to the Acreage to get water. D & G were there doing a few small tasks.

They were installing the batteries in
Gerry's scooter. Bill gave a bit of guidance
before trying to start their bbq.

It was over an hour before we left. Bill tries to help them with things and sometimes that takes longer than expected. He can't say no. When we returned, it was 3:30 and I remembered that Jess was having a welcome video launch on her quilling site so took my tea and phone out to the Bunky.

Is this a case of mistaken identity?
Bill tries to help get their dvd
player set up.
Um, would one of those FOUR
remotes help? πŸ˜‚

It was just the two of us today, for an hour, so we just chatted. She chatted verbally and I chatted through my fingers on her site. πŸ˜„It's a one-sided conversation but that's okay, a lot of people would be very distracting.

Gibbs sits outside for a while
but then wants in the truck.
He is actually happier and cooler
in there with the windows open.

For supper, Bill and I had fish. He had fries and I had broccoli from the freezer. We each had a Chapman's drumstick as well. The a/c was having a hard time keeping up today but surprisingly did shut off and on throughout the day.

Our Sunday night supper.

After clean up, Bill made his lunch and we relaxed for the evening. It was a good day. A very hot and humid day again but we're trying not to complain. It could all be quite different in a month!

I was looking for a memory and found
this one - Aug. 10, 2021
Waiting for a Monarch butterfly.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit. Hope you had a great weekend!

    1. I know, I laughed calling him a dead puppy. He just rolled over and waited.

    1. That is a whole different kind of complaining and quite acceptable. Be safe!

  5. Gibbs shares his chair?! Such a sweetie!! I rarely sit in Buddy’s but she will not get in it if I’m there.
