I Should Give Up!

The Ridge

On Wednesday, Aug. 20th I was up and on the move at the same time as Bill. Turned out, that was 7, rather than 6:30 today. He didn't have as far to go so slept in for an extra 30 minutes. It was a dull morning and we weren't expecting much other than that for the rest of hump day.

Good morning!
A foggy, misty one.

The Mat had a couple of customers arrive while I was there and there were notes on 3 machines that I had to text Sandy about. No hot water, they said. I informed the people who came in but they weren't concerned and would use cold. Some people are easy to please.

I get these notices, test the machines
and message Sandy.

I was sure I had no other stops so camIe directly home. My quilling was calling to me but rather than start anything, I began packing a few 'food' items for the weekend. We are invited away for 3 days but need to take breakfast and lunch food, plus Gibbs' needs.

When I'd gone as far as I could with that, I was tricked into believing (darn Facebook!) that I could make keto cinnamon buns. Ha ha, such a fool! But the recipe was so simple and the picture looked so believable. Where was that little devil's advocate on my shoulder when I need her to talk me out of things?

Cinnamon buns, my...........you know what.
Feel free to laugh, I know I should just give up!

Anyway, I was hopeful until they started baking. Oh well, with the cream cheese/yogourt icing, I'll do my best to eat them. I won't even offer them to Bill, they are pathetic. At least there weren't a lot of ingredients 'harmed in the making of this recipe.'

Not only were the buns a failure,
I was  being properly snubbed for some reason.
When I laughed, his tail wagged but he didn't move.

So, before moving on to what I can do well, I went to the Bunky and dug out the big cooler and our backpacks. Then, I created for the remainder of the day. I had a soft taco for lunch and then worked away until Bill got home at 2. He was done early and brought Mike's back for him.

So, when I decide to do some quilling,
first thing is pick a project.
Second is decide which paper to use, 3mm or 5mm
and then choose a backing paper or
blank greeting card.
As you can see, there are lots of colours to choose from!
I love my selection!

We didn't need to walk for the mail since Bill brought it up. Junk mail. He had his snooze with Gibbs while I worked away. We can hear them working at the road again, the fibre optic people, I'll find out in the morning what they did.

The top farm picture.....not sure
where it will go.
the bottom one is the right size for a
shadow box.

Supper was fish and chips and I had fries too. We had apple crisp for dessert. It has been another damp day but no real rain to speak of. Misty, is Bill's word for it. We reached a high of 19C/67F this afternoon, warmer than yesterday.

Oh, those fries were good!
So were the fresh tomatoes!

This was a good day. I hope you've enjoyed yours as well!

A beautiful sunset

Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. You make the sweetest lil birdies & froggies ðŸĨ°! Love it - WTG! And the buns? Well, we can’t be perfect at everything. Likely your recent apple crisp made up for it.

  2. None of those Keto roll or muffin recipes ever turn out for me. I gave up a long time ago. Better to buy the good ones ... just don't eat them all at once! lol
