Monday, Back to Reality

The Ridge

On Monday, Aug. 25th Bill was up with Gibbs at 6 and stayed up to get ready for the job. We slept well in our own bed, a king compared to a queen/double ?, is a big difference. I didn't have to clean today, hoping someone took care of the Mat yesterday. So, that meant a lazy-type-do-what-I-want day.

Good morning!
A day of clouds, sun, wind and rain off and on.

I had my tea with Gibbs and I knew it was going to be an indoor day. With rain and cool weather in the forecast, I had my plan already set in my mind. First things first though, I took our backpacks out to the Bunky. Putting things back in place took about 15 minutes and soon it was organized as it was before the weekend.

Sometimes the change in weather
was mere minutes apart.

Okay, let's quill! I'm not even sure that is a proper verb but I'm using it anyway. I've missed getting my hands into it. My second grandson has a birthday coming up and rather than go out and spend $ on a card, he was an easy recipient to make one for. I know he doesn't read my blog so I can share it.

Jake is my musical grandson,
although I'm not into his 'music'
and he knows it. 💘💕
Loves me anyway.

I finished Patrick's card too.
My Star Wars fanatic. 💕💓
These are all quotes from the movies,
or variations of them.

My son, also has a birthday around the corner, so I finished his themed card as well. I was chatting on the weekend with P, D & B about my week of Ladyfest with my sisters and after the discussion, I had a follow up idea to present to the ladies. When they were all gung-ho, I went on the site and booked us in.

We slipped out in between the rain
showers.

Already, our week is full, at least something to do each day. We are all getting up there in age but still relatively active so we want to do things while we can. 😉 With that taken care of, I went back to quilling. For lunch, I had my ham and lettuce sandwich and carried on.

Gibbs had to go check the workers out.
One walking, gave him belly rubs.
The other one was down in a 5' hole and
reached up to pet him.
He's not spoiled.

Before I knew it, it was 3 o'clock so Gibbs and I walked to check the mail. Just a Canadian Tire flyer but before I went, I checked the radar for the next few minutes. It has been raining off and on all day so far so I didn't want us to get caught in it.

8 blooms on this small
Hibiscus
Crazy beautiful!

They are working at the road again, the fibre optic guys, so Gibbs had to run out and greet them both. It has been cool and windy as well, only reaching 13C/56F with winds around 15 mph. We didn't see much of the sun at all until around supper time.

Tasty and filling

Bill was home around 5 after stopping at the Acreage to meet Gerry and to pick up his utility trailer for work. Supper was easy, leftover chili and rolls so it was after Bill worked on the trailer lights that I warmed it up. It tasted just as good tonight and we had a drumstick for dessert. Tsk tsk.

Clearing skies in the evening,
means cooler nights ahead.

When the winds died off around 6, the sky was mostly cleared of clouds. The temperature actually rose to 16C/60F. Just silly. This was a nice day, doing what I love with my favourite little fluffy guy. He did have an upset tummy earlier so maybe the excitement of the weekend caught up with him.

Could be a pretty sunset this evening.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.
