The Ridge
On Monday, Aug. 18th we were up and at 'em early. Bill was on his way to work by 6:30 and I left soon after at 6:45 for town. I'm sure it was harder for Bill to get moving than it was for me. He has been off for 4 days - and it was a nice break for him.
The Mat was empty again so I was in and out within my normal hour. I was perked up when I found $3.50 in one of the washers. Ooops! Someone forgot to empty their pockets! Their loss, my gain. 😍 I headed home to Gibbs, totally oblivious that I was supposed to go to Foodland for Bill's milk! Duh! It was sunny so I disconnected from power.

It feels good to leave the Mat clean.
At least it's clean when I leave!
The day was a pretty lazy one after that. I worked away in the Bunky, with Gibbs beside me. Can't do it without him, you know. He's such a love bug lately, I wonder if the coat makes him feel like cuddling. Whatever it is, I love it.

It's a good day to be alive, right Gibbs?
He is in all 3 pictures, playing peek-a-boo.
I had my lunch, a ham sandwich on my bread, and went out to lay in the hammock with the little bum. It was in the sun so after a while, he was down underneath me, in the shade.

| Gibbs was on duty while I tried to capture the dozen or so seagulls that flew over. I was lucky to get 1! |
We walked for the mail at 2 and I went back in to make more bookmarks.
Bill was home around 4:30 and had a bladder full of water from the Acreage. We were getting low. I had Madame IP boil eggs this afternoon, on solar power, and when we walked to the mailbox, I carried a t-shirt pouch full of apples back. They were dropping like crazy and the ones on the ground were bruised and/or bug eaten. 😕

It's sad that they are dropping before ripening
but I'll salvage what I can from the tree.
While Bill and Gibbs dozed, I peeled and cut them up for a dessert or two. Not enough time for tonight though.

It's hard to tell here but Gibbs is rolling
around waiting for a tummy rub on a very steep
incline. I could only laugh which made the
performance longer. 💘
For supper, we had grilled sausage on a bun and that was filling. It was when my sweetie poured his 1/3 of a glass of milk that I remembered what I forgot this morning! Crap!

I think every day now, we'll be seeing these
bloom. Gorgeous and huge!
After eating, I nipped into Foodland and took care of that for him. He'll want milk for cereal in the morning. The evening was quiet. Bill went to the Hangar, the air was lovely outside so it wasn't too hot in there for him.

The clouds on the way into town
after supper were photo worthy.
This was what I call a perfect day. Cool to start, only 10C/49F, but 22C/72F by mid afternoon. Our gas (not diesel) price in town has been high lately. Up to 1.33$/litre last week. This morning at 7, it had dropped to 1.31 and now, in town, it dropped to 1.28$. Who's playing games? LOL

I found this picture in my folder,
from Aug. 18th, 2019.
I have no idea what I was giving
a thumbs up but I'm going back to check
in that blog post!
Good night!
Thank you for stopping by.

It seems the weather is getting to growy things here also. Nothing is growing like normal this year. Love the Luv Bug!!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is the biggest mystery of all - it seems all over too!
DeleteEverything seems to be late this year and the up and down temps are likely to blame.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for Gibbs, he's such good company. :)
As if the gardens don't have enough to deal with in a normal year! Right?
DeleteYes, I'm so grateful for my love bug. ♥
I love ice cold milk, and drink it every day.
ReplyDeleteHey Clarke! Nice to hear from you! Yes, Bill has his every night for supper and for cereal in the morning.
