A Recoup Day? Not at All!

 The Ridge

On Saturday, Sept. 13th there was no rest for 'the wicked?' as after us sleeping in until 6:30, I rushed into town to clean the Mat. I could have left it for Sunday but decided I wanted, I needed, a day off at home to get completely unpacked and stay put.

Good morning!
I'm feeling a bit like this today.

So, I arrived at 7 and went to work. It was fairly clean but I noticed 6 washers had signs on them. Good grief! I wasn't sure if Sandy knew about them so took pictures and sent him a text. He has the mechanic coming in on Monday, so he knew.

It wasn't quite a 'hop on the road'
morning but this was my first
picture.
Traffic and crossing the Skyway and
Burlington Canal.

Back home, Bill was in the shower and I just needed to wash and iron the dress I was wearing. Today, we'd been invited to have lunch with Marilynne, Carolyn, Chris, Carol, Brian, Liz & Bruce in Fort Erie. Bill had set it up with Dot to once more keep an eye on Gibbs periodically. She is a Godsend. 💖

The staff at The Willows had the
room and table set up nicely for all of us.
Nothing we needed was lacking.

We left the Ridge at 9 and hit terrible congestion on the QEW, over the Burlington Skyway and it really slowed down our arrival of 12 noon. We made it to Marilynne's new apartment at 12:30 to find everyone outside waiting. 😁 Just in time to gather in a private dining area inside.

A nice lunch.

Lunch was cream of potato soup with peameal bacon on a soft bun which was delicious! Dessert was crustless cherry cheesecake, now who can argue with that. It was all very nice and then we moved upstairs to her 'home' and caught up until 3:00.

I was also in attendance,
ahem, the photographer.
I believe in keeping photos for the memory.
There is a lovely indoor swimming pool.

The drive back was less busy and we were back at the Suite by 6:10 to Gibbs. Dot had just had him out before we arrived, and he was happy to see us. Mike arrived at some point this afternoon so Bill and I chatted with him a bit.

The drive home was still congested
on the other side.
I saw (& missed) pictures of some
of the early bird autumn dresses.

Bill went to the Hangar until 10 and I watched 2 episodes of Bones, one very sad one and one very happy one, before going to bed. I dropped off right away. It was a great day but a long one. It's too bad we couldn't meet somewhere in the middle but it was still wonderful to see everyone.

I wasn't really hungry but Bill needed
something so we finished the meatloaf.
He'd eaten out all week, like me, so didn't
need it.

It was a warm day although it was a cloudy start and rained lightly during some of our drive there. Temperatures are in the low 20's/70's. Perfect.

Almost the same picture.
The colours changed within 2 minutes.

Such a pretty sky last night.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit. I do apologize for not keeping up with your blogs, I will get back to normal routine now. 😉

    1. Interesting! It is a Canadian bacon product from lean pork loin, rolled in cornmeal. It's salty and delicious!

  5. I hope that you had a very relaxing day. I can't get out to the garden so today was a day of rest for me pretty much as well.

    God bless.

  6. You are an energetic pair! I've driven that route as far as NOTL; the traffic is not nice! How do you have the energy after just partying for 5 days!
