Another Great Day! Helping out a Bit, News

The Ridge

On Friday, TGIF, Sept. 26th Bill was up and getting ready for work. He has done that every day thishe's  week and every day so far, there has been no work due to the weather. It may not be raining in the morning but when you are painting a house, it has to be completely dry.

Good morning!

So, no word to the contrary, he left under cloudy ('iffy') skies. When I didn't hear by 8:30, I figured he was there for the long haul today. He'll be happy with at least one day of work. He has completed a LOT at home here though so not complaining.

I can't believe the number of bananas
that are in this bag.
On the sales shelf in produce at Walmart.
At .75/lb, I picked up 3.5 lbs for $1.09
and they are all good!

I felt energetic this morning but had a commitment at 11 so just went to the Bunky and did a bit more quilling on my latest hanging. At 11, I drove to M's to meet with his social worker and another friend, to witness his signing of a Power of Attorney and will.

The blessing here is that it wasn't full when
the mug slipped in my hand to the counter.
The sad thing is, it's my favourite mug.
Bill will glue it for me with his 'power' glue
and hope that works.

It wasn't all that easy, the social worker had us baffled but I will type out the will at home and get things taken care of. He can't afford a lawyer so having something written up and signed is a step forward at least.

For lunch, leftover spaghetti
and a biscuit.

Back home before noon, I changed into work clothes and then had lunch. Leftover keto (fake) noodles and sauce with fried cut up chicken hearts. I need a meat with my spaghetti. It was very good and filled the gap in my tummy.

Gibbs and I raked up the twigs and
branches that got missed down the lane.

We went out with the leaf rake and walked down the lane, raking the mess up along and down the middle of the laneway. Little bits of twigs, leaves, branches are all now piled to one side. I'm hoping we can pick it up with the truck and trailer next time.

Gibbs found where Bill had cut a path
through to the pond for our water pump.
Look at him run back, he was having a zoomie
moment.

It's a pleasant day for outside work but when I finished, I was feeling pretty grubby. Gibbs found his Daddy's pathway to the pond (for the pump connection) and came out looking like a little puddle jumper. LOL.

What a little tramp!
Ha ha, so innocent, right?

The sweater came off as it was muddy and covered in leaves and dirt from rolling around. That helps, you know? His sore under his arm/leg looks better but I put coconut oil on it and put his thunder coat on for the time being. He loves his jackets for some reason.

This area, closer to the corral,
has never been cleared like this.
I can walk out on it now that the
pond is drying up.

Bill messaged at 2:30 that he was on his way home. Okay, so not a full day but close to it! They must be done painting unless it needs a second coat. The sky has cleared out and blue sky is allowing some periods of sunshine. We are expecting a warm up for a few days. šŸ‘

So, I finished the piece I was working on.
I love how it turned out!

For the remainder of the day, I went out to do some more quilling. I'm liking this new piece and have an idea already for my next one. Hmmm, sometimes I am scrambling for ideas and other times, I can't keep up with them! šŸ˜€

Bill slipped into the house after
cutting grass and Gibbs was wondering
where he disappeared to.

When Bill got home, he hooked up the dump trailer and we went down and cleaned up what I had raked. It doesn't fill the trailer so we can add to it this week. With that done, I went to do some quilling and Bill hopped on the mower to cut leaves down the lane and the front field.

After his snooze, we got cleaned up and hopped on Jazz for Catch the Ace. We do enjoy our Friday evening hour with the Lions. Tonight we sat with Mayor Kevin and his wife, Joanne. Fun couple. No win for us but Dollar Store Dave had the winning weekly ticket. Nice!

It was a nice night for a ride.
Plus, I had dressed for it with my
hoody under my jacket.
Perfect!
There is that red tree, many of the leaves
have dropped so they have red grass now.

At home we had toasted blct sandwiches. Delicious and we finished the apple crisp off for dessert. This was a great day, reaching a pleasant 23C/74F. Warm days like that but cooler evenings for the next 4 days before it drops off again.

Supper was simple,
as is usual for our Friday nights.

Last but certainly not least. Bill and I have become grandparents again. This time to Krystal and Matt's new baby girl. Yesterday afternoon, 7 lb. 7 oz. Quinn Violet Marie was born, a wee sister to 2 year old Alexander. I would have loved to see his reaction!

Congratulations, a million dollar family. šŸ’– No picture to share yet.

I've come across a folder in my photos with
a bunch of these. I may as well use them and
delete them over time.
I did have to laugh at this one.
(no reason!)

Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  6. Congratulations to the entire family! I look forward to seeing a photo of Quinn.
The Twinkle Twinkle piece would be lovely in a nursery, just sayin'. :)
Love the shot of Gibbs on the run. It's great he likes his jackets.

That's what I thought once I finished the hanging too.
I love the way he runs and his ears tell the 'happy' story.

  7. Congratulations on the new arrival. As Maebeme says that hanging would be perfect in a nursery.

    God bless.
