The Ridge
On Tuesday, Sept. 2nd my morning was not rushed for the purpose of cleaning but I didn't dawdle either. Bill and I left the Ridge within minutes of each other. He went to work in Hanover, and I went to shop in Hanover. 😀

| Good morning! |
Walmart is open at 7 so arriving there just before 8 am was perfect! Hardly any cars in the lot and few customers in the store. Yay! I cashed out after $230 with 7 full bags, drove to Independent Grocers for my yogourt and popped into Giant Tiger and Dollarama.

That is definitely the time of day to be shopping. At Dollarama, I found 5 or 6 pieces of wooden decor to create more quilling pieces. At this stage they are just 'ideas' but if that doesn't work out, I only spent $10. My mind is spinning, Jess had no idea she was going to create a quilling monster last winter with her classes!

Settling outside with my book,
a hot drink and my puppy dog.
Back home at 10, Gibbs and I spent time together until his appointment. But wait! Even though my calendar says Wed. Sept. 3, and the email reminder yesterday said the same............my brain continued to be confused on what today was and Kate politely informed us when we entered "I'm sorry, I have Gibbs down for tomorrow". Duh, head smack!!
(sorry, that was an incredibly LONG sentence!)

It was here that I was telling
Gibbs, he'd have a haircut and
feel cooler this afternoon.
Woops!
So, with our tails between our legs we hopped back into Ptooties and returned home for lunch. I fried up some liver and onions and that was delicious! 😉 I was readying myself to finish cutting the lawn up here, when a friend from London called. He was in the area (kind of) and wanted to stop for a visit.
Perfect! I put a picture of Derrick and his lovely wife, Kathy, just a few days ago so this is like deja vu. We haven't heard from him since we returned home. Kathy passed suddenly in 2021 and we are all still shocked about that. So, apparently things happen for a reason. I needed to be home today!
I had plans to dust, vacuum and cut grass while Gibbs was away so now, I really had a purpose! Derrick arrived from Southampton (not really on his way home but I'm still thrilled he came!) around 2:30 and we had a really nice catchup chat over a cup of coffee.

As he was leaving, an hour and a half later, Bill called that he was on his way home and bribed our friend into staying for supper. 💗 I didn't even have to cook! We took Derrick to Pebbles on Hwy 6, which puts him about 20 minutes closer to London. It was a great buffet meal and we all had our fill.

My entree plate was full,
mostly with meat. Yummy ribs,
deep fried chicken leg, roast beef
but the potatoes with gravy
topped it off.
This is my 'trying to be good' dessert.
So many choices!!
It was around 6:30 when we parted ways and for some reason, I was just too tired and full to sit and write my post. There's always tomorrow! (today). It was an awesome day, even with the brain cloud, and the Suite and Ridge are tidied for the week. We reached a beautiful high of 24C/75F.

It was a great visit!
Good night!
Thank you for YOUR visit! Your comments are welcome.

We both laughed at the brain fog! WE've done that before or we go back and forth about what day it is! Just happened yesterday LOL. How nice to see Derrick. He seems to be doing well. I love your hair! Ken and Shirley
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I am having a hard time remembering 'did I clean the Mat today?' Lordy o Lordy! It was nice to see Derrick, a great surprise! Well, thank you, Bill likes it long so...........he's the man, right?
DeleteI've had a brain fart or two in the recent past myself. At least, you went ahead of time, I have a tendency to be a day late!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful visit with your friend, and a great dinner out as well.
I'm feeling better all the time, with my honest friends! :)
DeleteIt was a great time with Derrick.
I like your entrance too, so very nice. Glad you had a nice time with your company and very nice to go to dinner with him. Becky
