The Ridge
On Sunday, Sept. 7th we were all up by 6:30. Gibbs didn't go wandering when Bill took him out.....it was raining so he piddled and hurried his little butt back inside. We sorted laundry, Bill did most of it while I got washed and ready.

Good morning!
Pretty sky on my way into town at 7.
He made my tea and I was out the door before 7. My last day cleaning the Mat until Saturday.😊 I messaged Sandy to remind him as I know last time, it was last minute that he told Ron. He replied in the positive so not my problem if he forgets now.
I do get nice compliments from Dollar Store Dave, always saying he hates it when we leave for the south and is very happy upon our return. His words 'the other guy does so-so, but you clean it'. I like to hear that and thanked him. I was still able to fit through the door, when I left with our clean folded clothes. My head hadn't grown one bit! 😂

| It has been a while since we've had a hot lunch and this was delicious! |
Before leaving Durham, I fueled Ptooties up and stopped at the bank to withdraw cash for the week. I could use debit but there is something about cash for me, I like to have time to calculate tips before having to punch it into a machine when paying for a meal. That's just me.
Bill was just getting ready to head out clean up the lane from what he cut yesterday. It wasn't as much as he'd hoped, the blade wasn't as sharp as last time but it helped open up a couple of views to the pond that we haven't seen in a while!

That top left picture is a good
example of what Bill cleared.
It's still not finished either,
but we can actually see the pond again!
I have a list of little things to take to LadyFest this week so other than revamping my suitcase (again!), the weather is so unpredictable!, I began gathering what I don't need in the morning. Chatting with my 3 other sisters, we agreed on a time for them to be here. I'm driving again this year but we're not going far at all.

My legs will be tired tonight,
I stood for 2 1/2 hours doing apples
for the freezer. Never thought there
were that many. 10 bags!
Have I mentioned our destination? An air bnb/VRBO in Collingwood and since I've never spent time there, it should be a nice trip. It's like forever since a school trip to Blue Mountain Pottery and I'm sure I didn't pay a lot of attention anyway. 🤭

Remember this stuff?
Mom used to have a few pieces in our
homes. The company ran from
1953 to 2004.
Some pieces are worth a few $$
It wasn't a nice day to be outside, raining off and on and windy, so I waited until after we had bacon and eggs for lunch and cut up the apples I'd picked. Holy cow! I didn't realize there were so many. They had a lot of brown spots, many of them, but I persisted and ended up with 10 sandwich baggies (2 cups) of slices.

So, there was some sun, winds died off,
and the rain stopped at some point.
Gibbs played outside while Bill
and I did our hobby thing.,
Lots of winter desserts will contain apples! Where will you be Patti C? I know how you love apple crisp. They are in season so there will be no problem taking them across the border, thank goodness! They will be in the freezer.

| Remember yesterday's birdhouse? I think it is much improved if I do say so myself. 😀 |
After finishing that, it was 3 o'clock already but I went to the Bunky for an hour and a half to finish my bird house. Gibbs and I walked to get the 'pretend' mail for exercise and boy did he get exercise! He constantly rolls, somersaults and runs off the zoomies these days. Something in the water? 😅
I tidied things up in the Bunky since I wouldn't be in there for a week and came in to get supper started. I made a meatloaf, Bill's favourite, and that way he will have leftovers for a couple of nights. He is very self-sufficient and would not starve but the mother in me wants to be sure. 💕💗

Gibbs and I had the talk.
"Mom is going away tomorrow, you
have to look after Daddy".
With that in the oven at 5, I made my tea and started my blog. Bill had a talk with Gibbs today in the Hangar about Mom going away so I've been getting a stink eye all afternoon. Ha ha, funny how we can read what we want in their facial expressions. I've no doubt he'll miss me.

A Sunday supper on a .........
hey! Sunday night!
I did it right this time!
Bill has taken the week off his regular job, I may have mentioned that, but there is lots he wants to do around here. I'm sure he'll spend time on his planes too, so that's good. Supper was very good, I had to make room in the freezer so I emptied the last of the broccoli. That was a lot!

| There were a few more spatters of rain while I wrote this. No chance of seeing the Blood Moon, we're in the wrong part of the world. |
After clean up, we watched some tv. I don't leave too early in the morning and Bill has a bit of running around to do first thing. It should be a fairly easy start to our day. We only had a high temperature today of 14C/58F and dropping to 4C/40F overnight. Good grief!
It has been a good day. I finished my bird house and added it to the 'for sale'? pile. 😄
Happy Anniversary
Mr & Mrs Worsfold.

Also, Happy 28th birthday to my 2nd grandson, Jake. Good night! |
Thank you for popping by.

Birdhouse is too cute. The more you make, the more you can sell!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteCute, decorative birdhouse! If it doesn't sell, it would look great on the side of the bunky.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your grandson, and Happy anniversary to the happy couple.
Enjoy your time at Ladyfest!
Thank you Maebeme. That's the thing about this craft. It is paper so cannot be exposed to outdoors, wet, humidity would ruin the paper.
DeleteIt’s interesting that you can take fruit across the border. We can’t when we cross into Washington, not even frozen.
ReplyDeleteThe listing says if it is IN season, we can take it. I always go with the attitude, if they take it, oh well, it's just food. 🤔
DeleteWith every quilling project you just get better and better.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
