The Ridge
On Saturday, Sept. 6th we were all up by 7. I was the straggler, as usual, not dragging out of bed until the last minute. Sometimes it is just hard to crawl out from under those warm covers and this was one of those mornings. 9C/49F and that doesn't feel like summer anymore.

Good morning!
Taking a picture from inside the Suite
of the sunrise in the clouds and an
intruder photo-bombed it!
We call these stink bugs but I'm glad
he's outside. It's that time of year. 😜
We had our morning brew, Bill had cereal, I had yogourt, and Gibbs sniffed and walked away from his. He is certainly not food-driven. Yesterday Bill filled our tanik with fresh water and dumped our black so the Suite was equipped for another week or two.

The clouds are pretty heavy looking
but we only got a few drops of rain.
This morning, with no 'chores' to do, he went to the flying field to meet his friends. It wasn't the best morning for flying but he was able to get the motor on his Tiger 30 to run and stay running. They've been working with that for a while. The winds picked up preventing him from taking it up but that is still progress!

My next book.
The Fox and O'Hare stories are
not funny but still a very good read.
At home, Gibbs and I went to the Bunky and I started on Roz's order for earrings. Red, in a circle, that was her request. Hmm, I know what that's for! On Oct. 18th there is a ladies red dress night. Darn it all, we are leaving that morning so my red dress will remain in the closet. 😔

Roz will get a choice of
which pair she likes - if any.
I should have laid them side by side,
duh!
I made one pair quickly enough but wanted to give her a couple of choices, big or small. She wears both. When Bill got home from flying he hooked up the dump trailer and took it to dump, 35 or so miles away. Perfect!

| I bought this birdhouse at Dollarama. Check back tomorrow to see what I did with it. |
We had lunch and then since Gord had generously dropped off his bladed trimmer Bill went down the lane. We took a run into town to check with some locals about a welder in the area. The dump trailer needs a new jack welded on.

Hard to see Bill in the top photo
but he's hard at it.
By then, I felt pretty chilly in the Bunky so closed the doors and turned my heater on. It warmed up quickly for me. I finished a second pair of earrings, the same - but different. Now, let's see what else I can create for the L.C.H.T. (Lion's Club Harvest Table).
Bill had some success cutting and will go at it again tomorrow. Supper was started at 6, fish and chips. His fries always look so good that I opted to have a few tonight with my fish too. 😋 The meal would have been better had I cooked 2 pieces of fish each, since they shrunk up during frying. LOL

If clutter makes you shudder, don't look.
It isn't as bad as it looks from this angle
but still a very full Bunky/craft/she shed.
It's Saturday night so we'd already decided on a snack later so a small meal was aok. The pots were washed up and the dishwasher turned on before we settled into the evening. It will be another chilly day tomorrow but a busy morning cleaning and laundry so I won't notice as much.

The taste of the fish was good, just not enough
of it.
The fries? Yummy!
A phone call from my daughter today brightened my Saturday. We don't chat often but I truly do love hearing her voice whenever I can. It has been a good day here on The Ridge even though our high temperature was only 15C/60F.

A memory from Sept. 6, 2023.
Gayle and John's Montana came for a visit
while they moved into their new home.
That was 2 years ago???
Time flies.
Good night!
Thank you for your visit.

That bunky is such a wonderful space. I suspect it will be even fuller in a few weeks as you get ready to travel south.
ReplyDeleteFall is definitely here, ready or not!
I agree, I love the space the Bunky provides me with.
DeleteAnd also yes, it will be jam packed soon!
Are you kidding? My house looks like your Bunky!! Cute earrings!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I doubt that! Thank you Nancy!
DeleteYou’re so lucky to have the bunky! I’m hoping to have one before spring since we left the shed with Susan & John. Patti
ReplyDeleteYes, I have to agree, messy or not. I should be able to purge some of the 'things that WE store' soon, too many blankets, pillows that we don't even use.
DeleteI'm sure you'll have a nice bunky soon, you have a nice spot.
Love the earrings!
