The Ridge
On Tuesday, Sept. 16th we easily slid past the Ides of the month. The days are disappearing in our rearview mirrors seemingly in a blink. I'm sure, for me, being away on a busy holiday for a week has had a bit to do with that. 😊

| Good morning! |
Today, Bill was up and left around 7 and Gibbs and I were up on time to say goodbye. A commenter asked me to keep them informed about our sleep experience on the grounding sheet. Being completely honest I can say that, other than vivid dreams (which I don't mind at all), I haven't noticed much.

You'll get tired of these changes
before I will!

You've seen this one before but
it gets brighter and brighter
before the leaves drop.
Gibbs has been doing more scratching, chewing, nibbling and that wakes us, so I am not sleeping through. It has been warm in the bedroom the last couple of nights as well, so that may play a part in that.🤔 Bottom line, I can not make judgement on the sheet until we've given it a good test.

I stopped and got out of the car
on the way home to take this picture.
If you zoom in, you may see what I saw.
Two jets about to cross paths.
We have another gorgeous day out there, I believe 'summer' has returned even though it hadn't officially left. The weather will change again on the weekend but fall is just around the corner, isn't it? I should be out in the gardens, but..........

Driving through Durham,
the clouds were the most interesting
thing to see.
I, also, was going to carry on with quilling but, instead, stayed inside with Gibbs and started another J.E. book. Fearless Fourteen grabbed me immediately. I still haven't heard back from the lady looking after the Harvest Market tables so I emailed again. Maybe it is a sign.

Gibbs and I walked down the lane.
I took my wagon and picked up the logs
that have been cut and stacked.
Gibbs was helping.
When you really want something,
it doesn't matter how big it is.
At a few minutes before 11, I packed some crackers and cheese, made a coffee and took my water bottle to Williamsford to clean the bnb for Robin. She has flown out to Saskatchewan to work on the new bnb with a friend until Andrew returns this week.
Once back home, Gibbs and I went out for an hour and a half. That's when I noticed that the fishhooks, jump rings and baggies ordered yesterday, were sitting at the Bunky door! That is just crazy! Now, there is no stopping me! Ha ha. Oh-oh, right?

I added this one to the
hanging tree. 😊
The grapes are my favourite.
I finished yesterday's wall hanging and feel better after an adjustment. What next? Basically, all I did was mentally plan. I have a few pieces of wood hangers but since I haven't heard whether I'll have a table, I began a greeting card instead.

| It tasted better than it looks |
Bill was home just after 5:30 and I came in to start supper. Meat pies, spinach and corn with a wee ice cream cone to finish that off. After dishes, we went down with the dump trailer and picked up the brush and branches Bill cut on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday......oh, and some on Friday.

A full trailer and more
clearing revealed.
We filled it before dark and with each load, I'm seeing more of a difference. Still lots we'd like to see out of there but it's a huge start. Robin doesn't need the trailer until after the 26th so maybe a few more loads yet!
We were hot, sweaty, all that good stuff so Bill went to the Hangar for a bit while I finished my blog and watched some tv. It was 8 o'clock already. Gibbs wasn't too hot, he sat in the driver's seat of the truck and guarded. 💓
It was another 26C/79F day so I may crack a window tonight upstairs. I hope you've had a good day.
Thank you for the visit.

I won't get tired of those leaf changes, have at it! And your supper looks like it would be very good....
ReplyDeleteHa ha, thank you JudithK!
DeleteMy Maltese was the same way, vet said his skin was so dry. I started using shampoo with Aloe Vera or Oatmeal and it helped so much. Do you know what shampoo the groomer used?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't know what she uses. Pat just told me the same thing today about the shampoo. Hmmm, it's good for our skin so why not, right?
DeleteTha is for the update on the grounding sheet, maybe it takes awhile?
ReplyDeleteYW, I'm hoping that is all it takes. Some results you read about on line are INSTANT, after one night, but what to believe, eh?
DeleteThat's a LOT of work cleaning out that brush. I wonder if the sheets are causing Gibbs to scratch. Any info on how it affects dogs? Cooper seems to be doing better this time of year ... not licking his feet at all. I'm very thankful. Love your grapes!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a lot of work. We just get so tired of doing it in small batches so wanted to go at it hard.
DeleteGibbs doesn't sleep on the sheets, he is on top of our duvet. But, not the sheet is good for dogs too. Maybe he SHOULD be under the covers!
Cute photos of Gibbs with the large branch. What a helper!
ReplyDeleteRemoving all of that brush will really open up the lane. A lot of work!
I laughed so hard at him moving the branch.
DeleteIt is a lot of work, I hope it helps for spring clean up too.
I will never get tired of the autumn colors! We have lots of elm trees but I believe we will only get yellow . I told Rick we should plant a maple. Love the wall hanging—I’m sure you make Jess proud. Patti
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you Patti. I love them too! Yes, you have a nice spot now, a maple would be lovely!
DeleteThank you. I like the wall hanging too.
Fall colors are the best! Cleaning that brush out has made a big difference - good job!
ReplyDeleteVery detailed on the quilling - looking good!
Thank you Payson48. Still more to clean up but we're making a dent at least!
DeleteThanks for the quilling comment, I need to come up with ideas!
Look at the lovely fall colour change. The one thing I miss here on the prairies is the colour red in our trees and bushes. That colour is not often seen around here.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I do love the reds in the leaves. Baptist Church Road here doesn't get too pretty, too soon, I'm still waiting. :)
