Crazy Day - Time is of the Essence

The Ridge

On Friday, July 10th Gibbs let Bill sleep in until almost 6:30. I don't know about him, but I had a great sleep, waking up when they got up enough to realize I had another stupid dream. LOL Funny what the mind does when you let it run.

Good morning!
Winding down, only one
Moonflower today.

When I came downstairs at 7, Bill and Gibbs were in his chair, relaxing. Gibbs stays up with me until I get up to make the bed and then joins Daddy - and often goes back to sleep. No work today, at least not for Mike and Billy. He got 3 good days in this week so he was happy.

He had his breakfast and at 8:15 drove over to cut the grass next door. At 8:30, I went out and cut the area of grass here that Bill can't get to with the CC. The battery died as I was finishing, good grief, it doesn't seem to last long anymore. 😟

When Bill came back and stretched
out in his chair for a few minutes
before lunch,
Gibbs knows the word 'snooze' and
joins him.
💗

I was so hot, already, when I finished just after 9 that I went into the Bunky, opened windows and cooled down sitting at the puzzle. It took a while, my arm kept sticking to the pieces on the table. Gibbs couldn't get comfortable either, inside with me, outside in the shade and eventually, I let him inside with the a/c set to come on.

A 3 part photo op.
Bill went out the lane.
Gibbs is in his usual postion,
listening to Daddy drive away.

It's where I know he is safe and happy enough, up on the bed. I made good progress but no sneak previews of the puzzle, no help to anyone who may be doing it next! Bill came back home around 11:30. The grass was done and he is feeling better about the mudding and sanding he is doing indoors.

He can tell by sound which
way the vehicles are going.
Wait a minute, Daddy turned right.
His head adjusts to the right.
Still relaxed.

We came in for lunch and with his little snooze buddy beside him in my chair, relaxed until 1 pm when he drove back over. We both will have showers this afternoon and we struggled with our late day timing. We have to be at C the A for 5 pm.

Then.......what? That's
Daddy's truck turning in next door!
He perked right up on his little
'elbows' to get a closer look.
Funnier in person, but still cute.
It's like he saying 'What the??'
🤭

We are usually there until 6:45 to fully complete the ticket process. We don't usually eat until we get home so we'll need to figure that out before we want to be at the Legion for 7:30(ish) when doors open for our night out. We're not 'later' kind of people and want to get a decent seat of our choosing.

Hence, the timing thing. It's 12:30 and we've still not figured it out. Do we dress before we go? Do we eat at Goodchild's Mobile Eatery and risk slopping food? Do we eat something at 4, before we go? Will there be time to come back and dress? Aargh! Who thought a date night would be easy??

Sorry Derek, but I didn't care for
your BFT.

We decided to get dressed and leave at 4:15, go to the food truck, get take out and drive to the Curling club for as close to 5 pm as possible. It worked out great since the club didn't open until 5:10 and we had time to sit in the shade and eat our supper. Bill enjoyed his fish and chips, I didn't like my fish taco.

Too little fish in the bottom and too much runny coleslaw on top which cooled the fish off totally. I won't do that again and helped Bill eat his fries which were delicious! Live and learn, right? We didn't win but that's okay, the $7,800 is still up for grabs.

This was early, it did fill up a fair bit
and the band just started.
Always early dancers when the music
is good.

We came home quickly to let Gibbs out and I changed from my bulky crossover purse to my more dainty but very suitable purse from my sister, Gayle's honeymoon. (1971??) the Legion opened doors at 7:30 and, along with a few others, we were two of the first 10 people in the door.

This band is great and tour
all over Ontario, Manitoba,
Ohio and Nevada. At least,
those are their upcoming show dates
now. Tickets were really reasonable,
$25 each.

From previous events, we've learned not to sit too close to the front aka speakers and hit the very back row. Mystic Highway was AWESOME! All CCR tunes which meant that with the exception of 4 songs, Bill and I knew them all. This was inspiration for us to get out on the floor a lot! 😀

I know 4 people who
thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Dancing - one of my favourite things and although it isn't Bill's, he was keen to get up as often as I was. Maybe 65% for his wife and 35% his own desire but whatever, I love him even more for the grooves, shakes and moves that he shared with me on that dance floor. 🥰 Enjoy the music with me.

We sat with Kat, Deidter and Doug with Lynn, Jim and Harriet not too far away. It was a wonderful evening out. We were home just after 11:30, turned the a/c off and opened windows before heading up to bed.

When I have a couple of adult beverages later in the day, I've learned to drink water so finished a glass full before joining my sweeties.

It's been a day, a great one once we figured out timing etc. We had a high temp of 27.22C/81F and even warmer over the next few days. Here's one last video. If I hadn't been up dancing, I would have recorded more. Deidter totally stole the show 'running through the Jungle'. Loved it!

                               Good night!

Thank you for coming by. Happy Weekend!
