A Beauty of a Day – So, I Baked, Friends Arrive

Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Jan. 17th I was wide awake at 6:30 when Bill and Gibbs got up. Gibbs was being very patient, leaning up against me, waiting for his Daddy to make the first move. 😊 I was in bed last night at 10 pm and slept very well with multiple silly dreams. LOL

Good morning!

I made my tea and as I sat in my dining chair, I opened the blind beside me. Wow! I was up and out of my chair, out of the Suite immediately. That morning sky was fabulous!! I felt quite hungry for some reason so had cereal, which I very seldom do. It hit the spot. Gibbs and I left Bill at home and went for our walk around the outside perimeter of the park.

I had to do some surgery on Stuffy's back where
the squeaker came out. I have a small baggie
of fibrefill for one of my own creations now.
Meet 'unStuffy'.

It was a cloudy morning though and therefore, the air felt damp and cool. Bill left to go to the field, not sure who would be there to fly on this dull day. I had my agenda in place, today I was going to bake buns, banana bread and French bread. Depending on how things went, I would freeze a bit of everything. 😊 I was craving more of those delicious rolls and I thought the French bread would be a treat for us, if it turns out!

The banana bread was a nice small loaf
to share.

At 11:15, the banana bread was done and cooling and the buns and bread were under the ‘heat’ light to rise. I wanted to check on the  puzzle and see if I could a few more pieces in before lunch. I don’t think there will be the worry of getting this one done but I’m enjoying working on it. It is still challenging with so much green! I came home for lunch and finished the soup off with a piece of banana bread. It turned out pretty good! Bill liked it.

When I walked down to watch Nancy back in,
I realized it didn't look like her at all!!
Cooper is watching me "help me!"

We noticed a Grand Design Reflection had pulled up to the office so we knew that our friend and fellow blogger, Nancy, Cooper and Jonathon had arrived. Yay! Bill walked over to see if he could be of assistance, even though John would help her get backed in to her site. She is a dear friend and likes to be close on hand just in case. In this case, the spot she was going into could be a bit of a challenge so when he offered, she accepted gratefully.

The puzzle is coming along nicely.
I worked on the right hand side and
just have the greenery at the top to finish

I walked down slowly, waiting until he had her rig backed into place. We left her to set up and then visited with her at our place for a while. 😊 It is very nice to see her again. She brought me some large oranges and Bill some Nutter Butters. You could say she knows us well. I went back to work on the puzzle and completed most of the half that I was working on and should be able to finish it tomorrow afternoon.

Gibbs and Cooper got
along great. 💗

I popped the raised buns into the convection oven and Gibbs and I went for our walk. They were almost done when we returned home and I then put both loaves of French bread in for the appropriate time. They each took about 25 minutes. I’ll do better next time with the Fb, putting it for baking sooner to prevent the top cracking like it did. One loaf will go in the freezer. Yum! Once the buns had cooled a bit, I took 3 down to Nancy with some doggied cookies for Cooper – a test run.

Today's fare turned out great.

Gifts from Nancy.
We gave her a bottle of Maple Syrup,
which brought a big smile to her face. 😍

Supper

For supper, Bill grilled sausages and we split one of my homemade buns while waiting. While they’re warm like that is the best time to eat them, right? 😊 Bill loaded the dishwasher and went up to watch a movie. When my blog is finished, I will probably find one too. Our tastes vary which is why 2 tv’s in the Suite is a bonus. This has been a good day, reaching a high of 71F/20C. 💖

Beautiful sky again.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

The Warmest Day in a While, Music Jam

Park Place RV Park

On Saturday, Dec.30th we slept in until 6:30 and then I forced myself up close to 7 when I heard Bill was getting into the shower. There was no time commitments today for anything but I had a blog to finish. I wanted to make collages of all my pictures from yesterday but Picasa wasn’t co-operating. I should have just done it anyway, as this morning was no different.

Good morning!

My walk around the block

I had to zoom in to get the Q mountain in clear enough.
It always brings me fond memories of our first year here.

Last night, I watched three good movies until about 10:45. One was called The Gift and it was 12 minutes long 😊. Another was called Being Rose with an older Cybil Shepherd. Cute movie, although slow there were some good views of the desert and even a mention of Truth and Consequences, a town in NM we have spent time around. I can’t recall the name of the first one – duh.

Walking north behind the Arizona Sun RV Park & Resorts

now, walking east

Gibbs and I went for our walk, it was 47F/8C, me in my down jacket again. I changed into a lighter jacket when we got back home and I struck out again. I didn’t get as many steps, only about 4000, but at least I’m getting out there. Again, there was nothing going on at the clubhouse for me, but I took some ink tanks and a long sleeve top over to the FREE table. The tanks didn’t fit our printer.

Bill took a picture of us to send back home to
my sister. Gerry, my bil, said some not nice words!!
Ha ha, their weather is not short-sitting weather. ♥

I was crocheting worms in the top picture but
did you notice Gibbs? He LOVES his new reindeer Stuffy.
He has only chewed one foot and his hat but mostly just
carries it around from one spot to another. ♥

Then, back home, Gibbs and I sat outside. I changed from long pants and a t-shirt to shorts and a sleeveless top. That sun was gorgeous! I took my Yarn Drum out and made 3 more worms for Sheila. I, mistakenly, used a 2 (or 3) ply yarn because of the multi-colours but they aren’t as nice. Bill and I had lunch and I tested the ‘new’ keto bread It isn’t as nice as what I get at Fry’s but it is guilt-free and not bad at all.

I thought I'd check out the Music Jam.
I'll just say that although the instruments were mostly good,
some people shouldn't sing. Sorry! Others were pretty good.

I think I'll get her name wrong but I'm
going to say 'Joanne' (?) is quite good on her flute.

When the boys went in for their snooze, walked over to get a listen in on the Music Jam at 2. Hmmm, well, I don’t want to be too critical but there is only so much that my ears can take. I’m not sure if this was just a ‘not-so-good’ day so I’ll visit again another time to see for myself. 😊 They are amateur musicians and are having fun – I hope. I walked back around 3, when they took a break, and was glad I went.

The southwest sky was cloud filled by late afternoon

The winds had picked up. I know it is hard to see
the ribbon at the top of the pole.
Gibbs and I walked around the park.

The sky has been clear blue all day and the 69F/21C was a real treat! It will be cooling off (again) for the next week or more. Too bad but as long as we get sunshine, we’ll take it! Back home, Donna checked on the Ridge and Bill’s cargo trailer for us. Things are fine and it sure doesn’t look like winter back there! Thanks, sis! I had my cup of tea and around 4:30, Gibbs and I went for a walk.

I thought this meant a great sunset tonight

But regardless, it created a lovely pink hue over the flat land
and mountains.

The clouds have moved in to the west so I’ll have to remember to watch for another nice sunset. We’re having grilled sausages, on a bun for supper. We had the last of the apple crisp for dessert. Today,  I cleaned up the table in the gazebo, making use of the K-cup holder we’ve been using. We need the counter space inside so went back to the old way of storing the cups. I'll take a picture tomorrow, forgot to do that earlier.

The clouds were just hanging when the sun dropped
below the mountains.

And this pink one over our neighbour's home

Supper doesn't get much simpler than this!

This has been a good day and I caught a few of those lovely suntanning rays!

Like a puffy blanket over the Suite
Good night.

Thank you for popping in.

Short and Sweet – Oh, and Warm

Park Place RV Park

We woke up on Tuesday, Mar. 14th to another warm day. The sun didn’t really make an appearance all day, but we weren’t expecting it to. Bill took Gibbs out at 6:30 and fyi, Gibbs is now jumping off the bed to go out most mornings. He has put the ‘trauma’ experience behind him. Bill left for the field shortly after 7:30 and after my tea, I got into my own activity.

The sun was hoping to make an appearance
but it didn't happen

I got all of the ingredients out for a couple of recipes. First, banana bread to use up the black bananas and secondly, it was time (and a good day) to make Gibbs some birthday cupcakes. 😊 Nancy put the bug in my ear so I googled an easy 3, well 4, ingredient recipe. Before starting, Gibbs and I went for our walk around the outskirts of the park.

The cupcakes look pretty inviting
with a piece of his treat on top
I told Bill not to touch them,
they belonged to Gibbs 😂

Back home, I finished both of the recipes and popped them in the oven. In no time, the cupcakes were done and soon after, the bread. Bill returned home around 10:30 just as I was about to leave for some puzzle time. We chatted a bit and then I had a shower and went over until noon. The girls were playing pool so I had the puzzle all to myself.

With my sandwich at noon, I tried one
of these Keto yogourts that I found at Walmart
They are good!

Sorry, couldn't get this picture to rotate
This is how I left the puzzle at noon

We had egg salad on French bread for lunch and then I went back over for another hour and a half. Because the weather will be turning tomorrow to a cloudy, rainy, windy day, I packed my painting things into the containers I had outside on the table.

They look good, eh?

Gibbs thought they tasted pretty good too

The temperature today remained around 79F/26C and dropping only to 61F/16C overnight. The rain is expected to start around 7 am.

With the ladies playing Pokeno,
I finished 'erecting' the barn 😀

This group of ladies meet every Tuesday
at 1 - 3 pm for a friendly penny game

I was thrilled that for lunch, Gibbs ate and loved one of his cupcakes. Oh good! We’ll taste the banana bread tomorrow after it rests in the fridge for the night. I hope it turned out. For supper, Rosy air fried chicken nuggets and I made a garden salad as a side dish. Both were very good. We watched The Voice and then a special called The Seven Ages of Elvis that Bill recorded on our PVR.

Our afternoon walk, was warm but
still under those cloudy skies
Notice the Plomosa Mountains at the end of the road?

Supper was good
And that's it for Tuesday for us!
Good night!

This was a great day, another one, 😉. I hope yours was too! Thank you for the visit!

Finalizing Things, The Day Warms Up

The Ridge

On Thursday, Sept. 15th I opened my eyes to read 6:05 on the ceiling from the clock. Bill was still asleep beside me, as was Gibbs. Oh-oh. I touched Bill and asked what time he wanted to get up. Darn! His alarm sound was turned down and eventually shut off. The next 45 minutes for him was a bit rushed and that is never fun.

Gibbs has a new temporary toy
Temporary, because by the end of the day, he lost access to it
when he tried to chew his name off

He rode with it all day yesterday without hurting Teddy

Gibbs and I got up and after Bill left at 6:45, I made my tea and got ready myself. There is no rush to get in to the Mat when I’m not working at the auto shop so I didn’t leave the Suite until 7:30. It was clean. There is no other way to say it. It looked great. Then I noticed that Sage had been in yesterday after school and that explained it. Other than checking the lint trays in the dryers and sweeping the floor, I didn’t have much to do. 😊

The grass is cut for another week

While I was in the Bunky,
he stayed either here or on the grass
with no leash 💓

There was a job that I could do to put in the time and I set about doing that. Kaitlyn showed up just after 8 and we talked about how she’s getting Sage into the routine. She was there to empty coin from machines and fill the coin changer. I agreed about Sage and that it wouldn’t hurt to have the Mat cleaned on a daily basis. The timing isn’t great, me showing up the morning after her 4 o’clock cleaning but……

On leash, Gibbs disappears through
the brush in search of ????

It looks happy and is brightening up nicely

I'm not the only one who likes the Sedum

After she left, I finished up with the dryers, it’s a time-consuming job, up and down on my knees. The floors weren’t bad at all but I did a thorough mopping before I left. I went to Foodland for bread and a couple of treat ‘snacks’ for Bill and a few munchies for me for the weekend. I stopped for water, a variety of 4 coolers at LCBO and scooted home. Gibbs was happy to see me, as always.

My dahlias are not very big
but they are pretty

I didn’t feel like much but decided on a bowl of cereal since it was only 10:30. A coffee went along with it and then Gibbs and I went outside. I noticed the grass was looking long up in my area so got my mower out and took care of it. I would have done the corral hilltop but the battery doesn’t last that long anymore. We may need to look into a new one next spring so I can do more. It looks great again and then I went into the Bunky to paint a wee bit.

Black Beauty won't be able to park here
on Wednesday

Gibbs didn’t have his ‘collar’ on but stayed right around the mat and the steps. I kept peeking out and there he was. What a good little guy! I gave him a teething chew bone and made a plate of good foods for an afternoon snack. Cheese, avocado, pepperoni, hard-boiled egg and grape tomatoes from the garden. It was all very good and filled the hole in my tummy. 😊

Our friends are returning
for a couple of nights
Their last visit this year 😪

I finished packing my bag for tomorrow with just a few things left for the morning and then I made some phone calls and did some online stuff. Some health related and some fun related. We went out to sit on the step until Bill got home. It was about 4:45 when we heard him in the lane. Gibbs was quite good, listening to my ‘no bark’, all the while his excitement had his little body quivering. I let him off the leash once Bill parked and he ran to greet his Daddy.

Waiting for someone special to come home

For supper, we had grilled burgers but we weren’t starving so waited until 6:30 to start. We loaded the dishwasher and ran it. It was pretty full from 2 days’ worth of breakfasts and tonight’s meal. The day turned from very cool this morning, 5C/41F, and the furnace on to a mediocre high of 17C/64F. Thank heavens for the sun, I was able to open a couple of windows and unplug from electrical power early this afternoon.

Gibbs and Bill cook supper

This was a good day and tomorrow will be bittersweet. Saying goodbye to my sweeties for a couple of days won’t be fun. Especially the little one who won’t know until later in the day that Momma isn’t coming home until Sunday. I’ll miss his little cuddles.

Bacon cheeseburger, loaded. Yum.
Good night!

Thanks for the visit!
