Gorgeous Day! Yard Saling, Dog Park

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Nov. 8th things followed our normal routine to start. Bill and Gibbs were up after 6 for their first outing. Then Gibbs and I got up just before 7 for my first outing. 😊 I washed, dressed and headed out into the 41F/5C morning. There was clear sky again and slight, if any, breeze to speak of. I was sufficiently dressed and thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

Good morning!
East and west views

Bouganvilla, Texas Olive Tree (!!!)
Date Palm tree.

Bill left for the flying field and after my reward (my cup of tea), I took Gibbs for his walk around the park block. Then at 9:15, I downgraded my attire and walked back to the residential suburb. I noticed a sign this morning stating GIGANTIC Yard Sale at the Arroyos. I headed there with my fanny pack and was not disappointed. I wish I’d taken a picture. They weren’t kidding, it was gigantic in any language! 😊

Best yard sale I've been to in a while.
It's on tomorrow and then Sunday is 50% off day.
I'll be going back, there are a couple of things...............

The best part is that even though it was all bagged and priced, the prices were unexpectedly low. If I had a house, I’m sure I would have needed B.B. to bring home my purchases. This lady, who recently lost her husband, used to entertain over 30 residents for every occasion. She had full dish sets for Christmas, Thanksgiving, boat parties, beach parties, Nascar parties etc. I was duly impressed.

What a good little walker he was this morning!

I chose 4 Christmas plates and a serving tray, 3 stocking hangers and a strengthening hand exercise ‘football’. Yes, just because that is the shape it is. 😊 P.S. my hand strength is not very good but it was a gadget that I wanted. Across the street, another yard sale produced a new Christmas wreath for our door that lights up. For $3, I couldn’t pass it up, since we need one.

I had a pizza craving at noon, so
I made one.

A puzzling puzzle.
It is a mystery one where you put the puzzle
together to find clues BUT, the puzzle picture is not the same
as on the box. It was fun not knowing what I was doing!
It's 1,000 pieces of mystery.

Bill was home fairly early from the field and came over to the clubhouse to help Sue set up her Starlink in the office. I put my puzzle away and put our chair quilts in the washer before finding a new challenge to work on. We decided while the blankets were on the line to dry, we’d go back so he could check out the garage full of tools at the sale. He found a couple of t-shirts as well and I came home with a couple more things. LOL

Dog park.
Gibbs' first time and he was pretty good
with the doggies. I think he was the youngest.

I went back to the puzzle while the boys napped and then we drove Gibbs to the dog park down by the flying field. I wanted Bill with me the first time so we could see how Gibbs behaved. He is more of a people pooch than a dog pooch, but he had the opportunity to sniff, get petted and dribble before we headed home. I’ll try and take him more often to see if he likes it. He’s sleeping now, so we won’t need to walk this afternoon.

I'm happy with my purchases today.
This small tool caddy will be used for my crafts,
I think. The stones are what I need for my
outside vase globes that I made last summer.
Flat on one side.

Bill and I each cracked open a Jack Daniels lemonade before supper. It wasn’t a ‘tea’ day for me today. 😊 Grilled bacon cheeseburgers for supper and a quiet evening in front of the tv. The day warmed up nicely to a sunny 74F/24C with still no wind worth mentioning.

The burger.....well, you know.
Delicious!

We’ve been here in the park for a week already and it just seem like it. I think because other than puzzles, there haven’t been any of the games to take part in. Hopefully soon! We’ve enjoyed a nice day. Today is m-i-l's birthday, so Happy Birthday, Marilynne!

Thank you for stopping in! (PS - a note for the commenter from Washington State - thank you!! I didn't realize my blog title had disappeared. My friend who took the picture has the watermark "on a long lonesome highway" on her pictures and I didn't want to remove it. You were not rude at all pointing that out. I think I've fixed it now.)

Good News, Somewhat, Quartzsite Heats Up, Doggie Park Play

Park Place RV Resort

Tuesday, Mar. 22nd after Gibbs and I got back from our walk, Bill and I had our tea and coffee together. Bill had promised to drop over to Roland and Lori’s location to see if he could lend a hand. He drove over around 8:30ish. Their issues have been plentiful, a run of bad ju-ju.

It was a beautiful morning, no jacket needed

First dilemma of the day
Gibbs had a squashed water bottle in his mouth
and came across one of his favourite little rum bottles
There was quite the hesitation going on

Their trailer jacks wouldn’t go up, a slide wasn’t coming in, fridge wasn’t working other than as a self-enclosed freezer with ice and some issues with solar. Thank heavens for a generator and some common sense (which they have), they have managed to get through to today, a day shy of a week.

With just one of those big doggies,
he's not afraid and they said hello

At 9:30 I walked to the clubhouse. I’d messaged Nancy and as soon as I walked in, I understood why she hadn’t responded. 😊 There she was working away at the puzzle! Yay! She’s got the bug! I enjoy working on it with her, it’s company and very nice. We thought it would be easy but we were fooled a bit. It is easier than the last one but still a challenge.

The last leg home, Gibbs was moving
with his little bottle

Bill popped in a bit later and filled us in on some good news. Well, they don’t have ‘great news’ per say, but at least things are improving for them. With lots of research, brain-storming etc. on Roland’s part mostly, he and Bill were able to figure out how to get the slide in and the jacks up so they could pull out.

Still smiling through it all 💖

They came over to retrieve the food she was storing in our freezer before giving hugs goodbye. It hasn’t been pleasant here in Quartzsite for them but we are still grateful for the time we’ve spent with them. Nancy and I parted ways after working on the puzzle  and I made Bill and I bacon with poached eggs on toast.

I thought it might be a good idea to take the ‘kids’ to the bigger dog park so once I tracked Nancy down (heh heh) we drove over to let them play. 😊 There were a few other doggies there but Gibbs and Cooper mainly wanted to enjoy the new areas to sniff. Dogs will be dogs. We stayed maybe 30 minutes before loading the two panting little sweethearts into Black Beauty. They will probably sleep well now!

Gibbs

Gibbs, unknown pooch, Cooper

Appropriate, huh?
Not to be outdone, Cooper needs to
claim his territory

Nancy called Cooper from far away
and look at that little gapher run to her!

The rest of the afternoon was pretty quiet except we heard from Lori that they would be held up for another week until Discount Solar could look at their problem. The only good thing about that is to hear that they’ve moved into the park beside us and can use their fridge and freezer. They’ll have a laundromat close at hand too so not quite so desolate. Hang in there, guys! We’re here if you need us.

A few last sniffs before going home

For supper, we cleaned up the lasagna. Well, I emptied the pan and yet couldn’t eat all that I put on my plate. It was too much so I saved some for another night for me. We turned the a/c off and opened windows at 6:30. The air outside had cooled off enough from the 83F/28C and that made it comfortable inside. 😊 We watched some of the Exotic Zoo program together and I set up the pvr to record a couple of my shows.

Bill walked over to Nancy's and Gibbs waited

It was a great day, a quiet evening and we’re thankful for both.

We all watched the animals on the Zoo show
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!

Tyson Wells, Warmer Weather Returns, Gibbs ♥’s Dog Parks

Park Place RV Resort, the Q.

On Friday, Feb. 4th, not much was different this morning except Gibbs and I left Bill in bed and slipped out for our walk at 7:20. It was 39F/3.9C and yet quite lovely. The sky was clear blue and there wasn’t any wind at that time of the morning. Perfect! We walked all around the outskirts of the 3 RV parks and 1 village (park models/permanents) and there were no vehicles out and about at all.

The Arizona Sun Village is a private residential park

Very fancy looking

Then, the Arizona Sun RV Resort was beside it
Looks like another nice park

The sun popped this morning

We love the private home properties with gates and brick fences

This tree has seen better days
but it is still nice for the camera

On the back stretch to home, we veered off the paved road into the desert, which is all around us (in a good way), because a Saguaro caught my eye and intrigued me. Once I reached it, I was saddened by its condition but it seems the birds are enjoying what it offers. Standing tall, it still provides a perch or two for them to sit on and some greenery for them to peck at.

Can you see him?

He was chattering away the whole time

Back home, Bill was up and had Gibbs’ breakfast ready. One day, I will go further to see how close to town I can get. This is a better place for me to extend my walking pleasure without limits and without too much repetition. We had our breakfast, my faux oatmeal is still hitting the mark, and after washing up, drove into town. We’ve wanted to peruse Tyson Wells again, the ‘tent vendors’, now that the crowds have diminished considerably.

Another pretty tree shot

Some weren’t open yet at 10:30, others were trying to re-establish their wares after the wind storm, but we wandered looking for a couple of things in particular. I found 2 or 3 things but one that I was looking for was sold out. Darn it! I should have grabbed it when I saw it before. Live and learn. We stopped at Sandra ‘D’s to make an appointment for Bill’s haircut but it was noon hour and her shoppe was closed. We’ll call.

I'm sure a little birdie whispered in our ears
and we stopped at the caramel popcorn booth

Bill toured a few streets in town, just for fun, and we stopped to fill our water bottle and at Roadrunner for a loaf of bread. I was feeling a headache from needing to eat something so at home I immediately started making myself a quesadilla with the few items on hand that were quick. Bill made himself a sandwich and then we crashed in our chairs. The day was warming up with that glorious sun and we dozed off and on until 2:30.

The guys at the flying field had told Bill about the Quartzsite radio station so once he turned the Sirius radio off and listened locally. It’s called Oldies Classics geared to us ‘Baby boomers’ so we know all the tunes. It’s nice to hear our weather and about events going on right here in this small town. He felt pleased to hear his flying club’s event advertised for this weekend. 😊

Gibbs was hoping for a playmate

Gibbs and I walked back to the dog park. We were alone for about 15-minutes, I was thrilled to see quail running through the wash behind the park! While busy watching them, I spotted Sherry and Missy, who I incorrectly named yesterday. Her real name is Trudy the red hair turned out to be well suited to her personality. 😊 Gibbs greeted her at the gate and they had a great time for about an hour and a half.

I was thrilled to see Mr. & Mrs. Gamble Quail for the second time
this winter!

There was a whole 'gang' of them chattering about

She was quite testy today with her little ball, only some of the time, and all he wanted to do was play. She’d snap at him and he’d run with her chasing him. That didn’t deter him and he’d run back wanting her to chase him again. It was quite entertaining and neither of them were in any danger of being hurt. Sherry couldn’t get over the many faces of Gibbs, always happy, while Trudy was like a grumpy little old lady. Ha ha (her words, not mine).

Sherry said, Trudy saw Gibbs and I go by so picked up
her ball to come to the park.
So cute, him meeting her at the gate. ♥

They played hard and rested together

Bill was watching NCIS when we returned and Gibbs told him all about his fun. 😊 I made a tea and began today’s post. The sun was gorgeous up there and I appreciated it since we are facing east and don’t get afternoon sun from our patio.

I don't have to tell you who's outside
Gibbs looks like a posed toy in this picture

It has warmed up to 63F/17C and although the winds have picked up a bit, it is a lovely day. I worked on my afghan for a while, Gibbs at my side and turned Jeopardy on to see just how ‘dumb’ I really am. Ha ha, just kidding.

Burger night (like at Pilot Knob)

We had burgers and fries for supper and I really didn’t need so much. I just had a few fries and they were good! After dishes, Bill watched movies and I worked on my blog and my blanket. This has been a good day all around.

This one is a reminder to myself
'Someone' suggested that i could make this on my own
so I took another look 😀
Many clothes in these shops remind me of the late 60's, early 70's
Peace!
and
Good night!

Thanks for stopping in.

A Quick Bit of Laundry, Doggy Park and Playdate, Pool

Picacho Peak RV Resort, AZ

On Sunday, Dec. 5th Gibbs and I got up around 7 and we took a walk to the Dog Park again. Bill indicated that he wanted more sleep. 😉 Today, we got lucky and Gibbs met a pretty little Auzzie shepherd mix named Lily. They got along famously and chased and played for about 10 minutes until her owner had to leave. They were pretty well-matched for playing together and no rough-housing was taking place.

Gibbs met Lily

Back home Bill still wasn’t up but I’d left him instructions not to make the bed anyway. I closed the bedroom door so Gibbs didn’t pester him and I had my tea while fighting with Picasso again. It wasn’t importing my pictures from the Google folder that I had downloaded them into. This morning, I discovered that they were all in my recycle bin. Grrr! I restored them, they zipped into Picasso quickly and I was able to finish. Bill got some g-r-e-a-t pictures with his large camera and zoom lens. I hope you got a kick out of the sky diving photos.

Playing tag and then walking together
talking about it ♥♥

Gibbs, watching Lily leave 💔

With the sheets done and the bed remade, the only thing on the agenda today was a visit to our friends so the dogs would have a play date and if the temperature was right, some time at the pool. 😊 We had some lunch, toasted bacon, cheese, lettuce sandwiches and then walked over. The dogs got along great today, and Gibbs got introduced to a couple of different treat/chews that I’m going to look for at the pet store.

On the right, the beautiful Peak

After we got back, Bill wanted to have a snooze with his little buddy so I changed and headed up to the pool. The wind was coolish but the pool was very nice. I sat off to the west side, all the east side loungers were taken, and turned my chair to face the sun. Once, mostly dry, I packed up and returned home. It wasn’t quite 2 hours but I was getting cool, too cool to go into the puzzle room in a damp suit. I dropped a book off at the library and picked up 2 more.

Playdate with the girlfriends

Look at those adorable long eyelashes (look close, there are 2)

Bill had a movie starting at 4 so I made a cup of tea and worked on today’s post. I decided to give this movie a chance and sat with my sweetie until it was time to get things ready for supper.

A couple of the cacti around the pool

It was just burgers so we started at 6 when the movie was over. I had my burger in a tortilla and we each had a garden salad on the side. It was almost too much food for me, I was stuffed.

I know you were dying to see it
Lunch

Supper

We did the few dishes and settled in for the night. When I’d had enough of Christmas movies and had my blog done, I went upstairs to a different tv choice. Maybe with decorations up, I’ll feel differently about them. 😊 This was a good day, with a little of this and a little of that.

Favourite picture of the day?
I set up some paints today and Gibbs was watching 💗
Good night!

Thanks for popping in!
