It was almost 7:30 when I got up on
Tuesday, Nov. 21st. I tried not to wake the boys but Clemson rose
and stretched before I left the bedroom. So, I let him out and he went back to
bed as I slipped out the door with my laptop. I had more postcards to mail and
a book to drop off. The book Bill finished yesterday was the type Paul likes to
read so when we visited yesterday I left it with him instead of taking it for
exchange.
That is Clemson's rock for the time being |
On the way to the WEST clubhouse I
silently prayed “please let me be alone” and it worked! No one was in there and
for the 45 minutes it took me to publish and play my games, no one arrived.
Yay! I know, as my little sister says, I should just be upfront and tell Mr.
Poolguy I’m busy and want to finish something. Or wear headphones! Thanks,
Wendy, I could certainly learn from you!
I packed up and came back to the
Suite where Bill was up with his coffee, reading the day’s posts. It is a mild
55F/12.7C and with no breeze at all it feels warmer in the sun. I made my tea
and chatted with my sweetie for awhile before he went outside and pulled his
drone out of the ‘garage’. I have a new book on the go called High Five, a
dusty old copy written by Janet Evanovich and I’m enjoying it. It is a different
type of mystery but quite interesting and somewhat comical.
The sky was iffy to the east this morning when we walked |
I sat with Clemson, reading, while
Bill and Paul played with the drone for a bit. Paul was heading out for a bike
ride, he owns a nice-looking Kawasaki and rides with his buddies. Lynn doesn’t
like to ride, having had a scary tip years ago. When Bill came back we ate some
cereal, yogourt and enhancements (nuts, fruit & flax seed). I made another
tea and moseyed on outside.
I was finishing a second tea so
invited Clem to join me. I could hear noises inside the Suite and when I set my
cup in on the counter, I saw that Bill was busy. He was removing screens and
cleaning the inside of the outer windows if you know what I mean. Good job! The
little bum needs to go for a walk today so I clipped his leash on and away we
went leaving Bill on his own. After numerous sniff stops and almost as many
poop pickups we had skirted the park.
Down at the corner, this mobile wash was spiffing up the motorhome |
When we returned, Bill was finishing
up and we sat and read our books together. Before too long, I noticed he was
dozing and we were getting neighbours. A Four Winds Class C motor home with a 4-wheeler
on a trailer was backing in beside us. Everyone gets involved it seems, they know
other friends across the way. Helping to direct them in the spot, we all soon
realized that Bill and I are apparently on 307 instead of 306. Mistaking the
very end open area to be a site, we moved down the row accordingly.
Not a wing walker but an rv walker |
Oh well, no one was too concerned
even though we could have easily unplugged and moved our power cord for the
night. The couple moved over one site and were happily set up at 305 where they
were supposed to be. We’re surprised that in all the drive arounds, Annette
never noticed the error we made and the fact that we’re plugged into the wrong
hydro box. Or maybe she wasn't concerned either.
He dropped his trailer and toy next door temporarily |
And got parked into 305 - 2 sites over |
Bill and I had decided that we’d go
to the pool, on our last day here. I know I, for one, would regret it tomorrow
if I didn’t. Speaking to Jim up at the pool, a regular, he said no one would be
the wiser if we returned for Thanksgiving dinner OR if we returned for a dip in
the pool. Well, we’re not CRA members so I wouldn’t want to upset the apple
cart. Not much of a rule breaker, neither of us are.
Their supervisor seemed to approve |
I went to the pool first and swam for
over 30 minutes before hopping into the hot tub. The wind had once again picked
up and made the transgression from shower to pool and pool to hot tub a cool
speedy tiptoe. Pleasantly, the hot tub to my lounge chair, was a nice stroll
where I was able to enjoy the sun. Bill joined me soon after I was in my chair
and we both climbed into the pool with our noodles.
The cacti here are looking really healthy |
Lots of chit chat ensued with other
campers, more new ones from Alberta and some who we’ve talked to before. It
didn’t take long before Jim asked Bill where we were from. Once he answered
“Ontario”, the next question was “Do you know George and Suzie?” Bill said
“Yes”. They laughed at the response and thought we were joking. Ontario is a
big place of over 13 million, that was the question he asked and Bill was able
to answer it honestly. Too funny!
You’re famous, George! (Our AwesomeTravels). We all moved to the hot tub and it was then that Bill recognized Jim
and Sharon from Mesquite, NV. We watched them park in the spot in the Casa
Blanca Casino and Bill actually got a tour of their older but newly renovated
motorhome. They went to the same Hallowe’en gala that we did where ‘Elvis’ aka
John Brooks gallantly performed. What a small world.
Before dinner, the sun starts its serious decline |
We stuck around the pool until 4
o’clock before walking back chuckling at the coincidences of life. Bill fed
Clemson and we sat to rest before dinner. Tonight, it is Italian meatballs and
spaghetti. I gave Bill a break from barbecuing and cooked them inside in the
convection oven. I still don’t have any spaghetti squash so used pasta noodles.
How original!
My $1.50 spaghetti cooker 10 minutes in and out |
While the huge meatballs were cooking
I fried peppers, onions, celery and mushrooms on the stove and then added the
sauce. If I do say so myself, it was a wonderful supper, just enough food with
a single meal left over.
Sun and clouds Always an interesting combination |
The wind which we’ve all been wishing would calm down
is a blessing tonight. It is still 77F/25C outside at 7 pm and a balmy 82F
inside. Most of our windows are open and there is a lovely breeze coming in
from the darkness.
The sky didn’t disappoint me, another
spectacular display while supper was cooking. Bill and I enjoyed the pool this
afternoon, essentially making the best of our final park day here.
Throughout the day, I packed away the small things and secured cupboards. The rest can be done tomorrow, it'll be a no rush day with not far to go.After dinner
and dishes, we watched our favourite shows. Tuesday is our best television
night of the week. I hope that you also had a good day.
I had to zoom in on these colours |
Thank you for reading! Your comments
are welcome.
Another good author that we enjoy as well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a small world meeting up with Jim and Sharon, we met them many years ago at Catalina Spa, Desert hot Springs California and almost somewhere every year since then from the Florida Keys, to Alabama, Texas, Quartzsite Last time was in the spring we met for lunch in the Yuma Foothills.
Thanks for the shout.
It was a fun book to read and quick.
DeleteJim and Sharon said we'll probably see them in the Q.
Hi Patsy:
ReplyDeleteI have read most of her series of books and they are always interesting. She is a good author. Enjoy. Kathy It's about time.
You just never know when you pick up a book by a different author what to expect. But I did enjoy it very much and look forward to seeing more. Thanks Kathy
DeleteOh such a tough life you lead! I'm getting jealous.
ReplyDeleteI know!! But someone has to do it! :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful sunset..Funny about the wrong site obviously not toto big of a deal, which says a lot about the rv park you are at..sounds like you had a good ending to a lovely stay. Dinner looked great!
ReplyDeleteIt obviously shows flexibility in the park and the manager is big on that. She said 'some seniors hate change and grumble a lot'. We laughed about it.
DeleteIt was a great stay at a great park. We'll go back another winter for sure.
She's a good read, I like her stuff. Funny story, "Do you know George". Dinner looked good! Glad you enjoyed your last day.
ReplyDeleteBe safe, take care
Deb

DeleteToo funny about George. Doesn't everybody know George? :)
