The Ridge
On Sunday, Sept. 28th It felt good to sleep in. Well, not exactly 'sleep in', as we were up by 7 but it felt nice to not have to get up at any given time. Gibbs slept in until 6 and came back to rest with me while Bill stayed up.

Good morning! A display of love for Goat. All you can see is his blue hoof.
Last night when I went up to bed at 9:30, my leg was really uncomfortable. It took some painful twists and turns to find a good position so I could drop off. Mike had informed Bill he was coming out for the night, after visiting Donna and Gerry at the Acreage.
I knew when he arrived because Gibbs let me know that Bill had a visitor at the Hangar. 😂 This morning, I had my tea and Bill pulled out with his cargo trailer, headed for the field. The days for flying are numbered, not only because of weather but because of time.
Mike had somewhere to be today so left early also and Gibbs and I went to the Bunky/outside around 10. I had a plan today to tidy up and 'pretend' I had a 'gig' (can I call it that?). I wanted to see how the best way would be to pack and carry to an event.

Gibbs found a shady spot in his bed under the Suite
I came across a few cards that I wanted to tweak and I wanted to put a couple of my finished pictures into the new shadow boxes I bought the other day. They each required some tweaking too and then I found baggies suitable for each piece.
Bill got home from flying and went off to pick up a couple of items that he won at the 6 & 6 auction. He was very careful about what he bid on and we ended up with a kitchen tap for the Suite. Now he has another job before we leave!

This card was co-created. Jess made it originally but I added the camel blanket and harness. Hope she doesn't mind!
After lunch, I went to the Bunky again and quilled until almost 2. There was an Open House at a well-hidden home down the highway and although not in the market, I was nosy (ahem, curious) enough to put myself out there and check it out.

The laneway goes back into a grove of evergreen trees so I'm happy to see the log home for the first time.

After 400+ square footage, I don't know what we'd ever do with over 2200!
I'm glad I did! It's gorgeous! Now, to just win the $1,000,000. 😂 Anyway, I loved that it was open viewing with the realtor not leaving her spot at the kitchen table while we, myself and about 5 other 'snoopers', walked through at our own pace.

Other than trimming some overhanging trees, the property is lovely!
On the way home, I stopped at the Acreage to pick up some yogourt that Donna bought for me. I had a nice visit with her for about 30 minutes before returning to my boys. Time for a tea! More crafting ensued, until supper time.

I never have to wonder if this little guy loves his mama. 💖
Bill grilled our steak and I fried some potatoes for him. Mike had left a salad in his fridge so we split that. It was delicious, as was the steak, grilled to perfection. Bill had a cinnamon roll and I had a pecan tart for dessert. Oh dear, the weight losses will have to wait!

I decided to make a sign for my booth/table and like how it turned out.
We cleaned up the few dishes, Bill made his lunch and we watched a movie together. Gibbs slept with Goat on my chair, it's so cute to watch him with a new toy. It was a great day. I enjoyed the slow pace for a change, no commitments.

The steak and salad were tasty.
We reached 23C/73F with clear blue skies all day. Seems like the nice weather is here for a while longer. Yay!

I buy them, we eat them. Duh! It was so good though! Good night!
Thank you for the visit today.

I love that sign and the harness and blanket finish off the camel beautifully.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie. I appreciate the kind words.
DeleteFunny how our critters love THOSE critters. I looked up property in your area once ... YIKES! It's expensive up there!! Love the quilling ... the palm tree Jess made is awesome, and the camel so much better for the blanket. That was a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThey love their toys for sure. I should have bought the whole box of them!! haha
DeleteYes, homes are expensive here, we sold our bungalow in London in 2016 for $134,000. It is crazy now!
Thank you, yes, I hope she doesn't mind that I tweaked the camel.
I’m sure Jess is proud of how well you’ve done with the quilling! Patti
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti.
DeleteI stared at that little tart so long my mouth started watering and could almost taste it.
ReplyDeletehahaha that's funny!😉😋
DeleteNeat sign! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun setting up a booth. There will be lots of questions about paper quilling for certain.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Gibbs hasn't taken apart the goat just yet. What a good boy!
Thank you Maebeme. I like how it turned out.
DeleteGibbs hasn't got a hole in Goat yet, maybe he's grown up. Ha ha.
I love the sign for your table and the Q card! That little tart looks so yummy and just enough! Oh and Congratulations on the new grand baby!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley. That tart is a no no but we both said yes, yes.
