The Ridge
On Friday, Sept. 19th we were both up early, by 6:30 at least. I slept well again until 6 and then did my stretches until it was time to get moving. Bill left at 6:45 for work (Kincardine not Listowel) and I left for Durham 10 minutes later.

Good morning!
A different view this morning.
Low fog over the fields
and low clouds over Durham.
Another day on my own, just perfect! I washed the comforter that was left in L & F plus the work rags that I've used over the past month. There are quite a few so when they get dirty, I just drop them in a pail and grab a clean one.
With the Mat clean, the rags dried, I bagged the comforter with the sheets I'd washed a week or so ago and dropped them at Rethreads door. Someone else may as well get use out of them. The store sells items very reasonably priced.
On the way home, I stopped at the Shell station and cashed in my Lotto Max ticket for a free one and picked up another 649 ticket. Do I feel lucky? Ha, it hasn't worked yet but one day, perhaps. Back home, Gibbs and I hung around inside the Suite.

Our own trees are starting
the colour process.
He slept mostly, while I purged. I emptied bathroom cupboards, taking inventory of sorts and removing things we don't use. Then I moved to my bedroom closet - again. I have a lot of things to pass on to the exchange so got to work.

Gibbs guarded me while I ate.
He's watching down the lane in between naps.
I felt much better when I stopped but I still have one more drawer to go through. I won't be at the exchange this year, it's booked for the day we leave. 😐 That's disappointing but I'm not the host. It was lunch time and I took a plate out to the picnic table with Gibbs.
The sun felt lovely, although it was cool indoors. Bill was expected home early today and so I went to do some quilling while I waited. It was 2 pm when he drove in, right on time. He hooked up the dump trailer and drove to Durham's dum to empty it.

My driver was in short sleeves
but I found the air cool so wore my
leather jacket, done right up to my neck.
When he returned, he changed and we hopped on Jazz for my bank appointment. My RRSP needed attention. When we returned, he and Gibbs had their snooze and I quilled some more. I want to be prepared in case someone cancels their table. 🤞

The donut tree, starting to change
at the top and that red tree, in its glory.
Notice the ground around it now though?

Ron stepped in for Deidter
again this week and who says adults
can't have fun?
These guys are a hoot!
I sat to write, it already seems late at 8 pm. It is getting dark so early now. Bummer. This has been a busy but a good day. No rest for the wicked, they say, so that must explain it! 😂 We reached 20C/68F this afternoon but the air felt cool on the bike for me.

Grilled cheese and onion.
A quick late tasty supper.
Thank you for your suggestions of a chiropractor but there are other things I would rather do than go to one. Even putting up with it. I don't mean to offend in my beliefs but I don't have faith in them. I believe it to be a $$ grab since everyone I know, has to continue going - for years. I don't mean to whine for sympathy and apologize if it seems like that. Okay, enough of that!

A memory from Sept. 19, 2019
shows my garden bursting with
healthy vegetables.
What a difference!
Good night!
Thank you for popping in. I do appreciate your comments.

I remember the donut tree from years ago! Red tree is so pretty - sorry to see the leaves dropping already. Enjoyed the ride on Jazz tonight - thanks! Ginny
ReplyDeleteI thought you might remember it! I'm waiting for it to change its dress too!
DeleteYou're welcome!
The trees they are a changing!! As for chiropractors, mine told me only to come in when I was in really bad shape. Turns out that was about once a year. I agree, that nonsense of going every week is just a money grab. Mine told me that was not at all necessary. Scritches for the Good Boy Gibbs!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the trees are wearing colourful dresses!
DeleteSounds like you have a good chiropractor...........I like that much better! it's nice that you have an honest one.
Gibbs says thank you!
I wonder if the person who left the comforter behind will find it at the thrift store? :)
ReplyDeleteBusy day, and I assume the next month will be busy as you prepare to head south. Hope you get some down time.
Ha ha, I often wonder that but I think in most cases, they consider the Mat as a drop off for what they don't want. They could drop it at the thrift store just as easily..
DeleteThank you Maebeme, things will be steady over the next few weeks so we hope the weather co-operates so we don't need to do a lot in a few days. :)
