The Ridge
On Wednesday, Oct. 15th when I woke up at 6, Bill was already in the bathroom getting washed. It was another great night's sleep and although I had the Mat cleaning and laundry to do, I was in no rush. Bill started sorting the clothes while I washed and dressed.

| Good morning! |
Gibbs just watched. He's no good at figuring out whites and colours, he's colour blind. 😂 Bill was eating his cereal when I took the basket out to the car but it was still pitch black out there! Wimpy Patsy turned around and came inside for another 10 minutes. It wasn't even 7 am!

My last cleaning this year
I left it as neat as I could.
By the time I arrived in town, 7:15, it was light. There were too many clouds overhead so I decided to dry the clothes before coming home. I was alone and cleaned within an hour and left the place for the last time this year. I'm glad, I'm ready for a break. I drove to Impact Tire and bought Catch the Ace tickets from Jackie and got a hug goodbye too!

Heavy clouds as I
tour home on Baptist Church Road.
Glad I dried the clothes at the Mat
Bill went in a different direction this morning. He left the Suite at 7:30 and headed to Guelph to get a few things from Costco and visit the hobby store in Mississauga. On his way home, he phoned to suggest we meet at Murray's near Hanover to put Ptooties in storage.

Looking across the pond
The view will change when this
apple tree is gone.
After returning home, I contacted Dot to pick me up and at 1:30ish we headed into Durham to visit our 3 Golden Girls' member. 💖 I know Dot is quite a few years our junior but she fits right in with her elders and we have a great time together.

The shelter is ready for the winter.
We had a glass of wine (or 2) with some snacks and caught up. Bella was warming up to us both but she sure stole Dot's heart this visit! We walked away with trick or treat bags filled with some jams, crackers and another fun memory.

We had a fun visit
Bella performs a lot like Gibbs.
Sweet puppy and Pat's best friend.
When Dot dropped me off, Gibbs hopped in her truck. Too funny. Bill was ready to go over to get a bit of water for our fresh water tank without filling it too full. So, Gibbs rode over to her place with her and he came back with Bill. He's a character.
For supper, we had the last of our turkey roll, leftover vegetables and a drumstick. It was all very good and helped to clean our a lot of dishes from the fridge. After dishes were taken care of, we watched more episodes of The Voice.
Bill completed a few things while
at home.
Lila is situated in her travel cart,
a Carbon Cub is in place for travel too.

Pretty sky tonight in the west.
Supper doesn't look like much but
the turkey, dressing, gravy, onions
oh my!
This was a great day and we took a couple more steps towards our departure. I'm going to miss getting together with the girls but I'm happy to know that they will carry on while I'm away. We only reached a high temperature of 12C/54F but it felt cooler than that with the cool wind.

It was fun seeing Bella being
so friendly today
but, I can't forget our own
little love bug here at home.
He was Daddy's boy today.
Good night!
Thank you for stopping by.

How fortuitous that the missing couch is the perfect spot for the carbon cub. That sure freed up a lot of space for you for traveling. Love the puppies and the Golden Girls.
ReplyDeleteYes! Imagine that, eh? 🤣
DeleteHaving a visit with your friends there before you get away was lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat last day (for now) of work would be a bit of relief.
I'm so glad we made it work in between clean up, appointments and work.
DeleteIt is a big relief every fall when I 'close up shop at the Mat'.
How nice that you got another visit in with your friends. The time is coming quickly for you to leave on your travels.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The last day of work is always highly anticipated but then again so is the first. In my case with equal joy. Lol.
ReplyDeleteSaying goodbye to family and friends is always bittersweet. Packing up and the emptiness we see looking out the windows seems to give a finality that is a mix of happy, sad, lonely, anxiety, excitement and something else that is to elusive to put into words. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times.
Safe travels.
