Monday, A Day of Rest, Whaaa???

The Ridge

On Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 13th we did it again. Thanks to Gibbs, it was another sleep in morning. I did have the Mat to clean and I had our chair quilts and towels to wash as well today. The bulk of our laundry will be done on Wednesday.

Good morning!

It is and has been very nice with my cleaning job that I can set my own hours, so sleeping in is never a problem. I was on my way around 7:15 so not really late at all. A couple of customers arrived shortly after I had my items in the machine and was half way through cleaning.

Beautiful clear skies
on my drive to and from town

When I walked into the office, I saw Sandy's note about my pay being in the drawer. Nice, he has been awesome this summer, never forgetting to leave it and always before the month is even done. I noticed, too, that he had picked up the note with Darlene's information so I was happy about that.

I made a stop at Robin's to set
a couple of items out and put some
packing boxes in the garage for a tenant.
This is Mildred's rubber chicken,
waiting for her return from Nfld.

I'd love to see her get a call, occasionally at least, if not for the whole winter. I've even considered using her as my fill-in over the summer when Bill and I are away and during LadyFest. Anyway, I finished up there, bringing our damp items home to hang.

I made one stop at Battery Pro and filled a water bottle before heading for the Ridge. My second job today was to clean the bnb for Robin. She will not be home until late Wednesday and she has guests coming in tomorrow.

After the bnb was clean, I
drove to meet Bill and Jazz at Murray's.

Bill was busy taking the shelter down and working on a piece under the Suite from the last blown tire. I left for Williamsford and we planned that I'd meet him at Murray's on my route home. Jazz is ready to go bye-bye for the winter. It is a lovely day for a bike ride so Bill was happy.😀

Bill takes her battery out.
Good night, Jazz.
Have a warm winter's sleep.

Once we returned home, it was around 2 and we noticed Mike had been and picked up his trailer. Sorry we missed him so Bill called to chat. Because neither of us really had a proper lunch, we had a piece of pie.  I must brag a bit because my pies turned out great!

I had quite a few (10)
small green tomatoes so fried
them up for lunch.
Yummy!

I put 4 pieces on a plate for M, 2 apple and 2 pumpkin, and will take those over tomorrow afternoon. It wasn't a traditional meal this year so pie will have to do! I know he'll appreciate it. For the rest of the day, we didn't do much at all.

Gibbs wanted to sit with us so
Bill hoisted him up on his chair.
"Where are we going this year, Daddy?"

The day was sunny for a while early on but soon clouded over, reaching 19C/66F. There wasn't much left to do around here anyway and although I still have one garden to clean up, I'm not concerned since Thursday is a very quiet day.

Sometimes you just need those
extra eyes to help with the map.
Gibbs was happy to help.

Bill and Gibbs worked on our route for the beginning of our journey and then succumbed to tired eyes for a bit. 💕 Our neighbours made it home from their camping trip so Gibbs had to let us know that Caper was home again. I'm sure he was more interested in Dot being back. Ha ha, he's a people person, what can I say?

Donna and Gerry were cleaning things up at the Acreage today as well and shortly after 5 popped over for one last visit before we parted for the winter. That was very nice! They stayed for almost an hour and we hugged one last time. 💓

Our own private turkey dinner
was nice too.

For supper, I had Madame IP cook our own turkey. This one a stuffed turkey breast. Bill missed stuffing yesterday, one of his favourite things, so hopefully this will suffice. I should have picked up some fresh cranberries to make sauce but wasn't on the ball. LOL Of course, we had another piece of pie for dessert. 😋

My niece, Janice, was snapping photos too
at our family dinner.
So, credit for these 4 are to her.

Gerry, Bill, Patsy, Donna, Gayle, Joanne
and nephew-in-law, Bill B.

It all was delicious! We cleaned up the 'non-dishwasher' dishes and Bill carried on with changing out our pot lights in here. Told ya, Everready  Billy. 💘 We started into watching Season 11 Ep.1 of Bones while he worked and while I worked on my blog.

The bees were a bit annoying
but a few sat outside to eat.

Jeremy, Gayle, John, Donna, Gerry
and my son, Patrick.

This has been a good day, quite a few more things taken care of. I can't lay claim to hardly any of them other than completing some laundry and cleaning. Jazz is put away and until Wednesday, Ptooties is still in our possession.

The dessert table.

We reached 18C/65F under mostly cloudy skies. Our nights are dropping in the area of 7C/46F which is certainly easy enough to handle with our Blue Flame heater on low overnight.

Usually, this is where I am.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Better he tell us now instead of halfway into the turn! He'll need those pit stops.
