The Ridge
On Saturday, July 4th, while our American friends are celebrating their 250 years of Freedom, Bill and I had to change our morning plans. Darn rain! We went to bed believing the forecast that rain would begin around 4 am and end around 9:30 am. πππ

Good morning! There were 9 more last night.
Okay, so we're somewhat gullible but there was a lot of HOPE in that belief! Seriously, we weren't really surprised, that has been the weatherman's story for decades. So, Bill didn't go flying when the rain started at 7 and I didn't go to town for a sale. π€·♀️

Funny boy.
Bill had the water jug on
the counter and Gibbs just
couldn't figure it out.
Usually, we fill it and put it in the fridge.
It was pouring rain, so it waited
and so did Gibbs.
π
The rain could end around 12:15 but that doesn't help either of us. We'll both re-plan for tomorrow. I have to clean the Mat first thing and will set up after that. π€With my table folded up and in the back of Ptooties, I decided I'll just set up a few things on our main table to continue with cards.

Heavy enough this morning to create more puddles.
I watched as Bill worked at the 12v light around the stove area, prepping for the 'big' replacement down the road. I'm anxious for the new stove but not putting any pressure on since he has to do all the work. It will be a nice improvement to our daily living.

Those are some dark clouds we saw while over at Dot and Gord's
We had lunch, eggs and bacon, and placed the order for our stove. π The afternoon was quiet. I did some paper quilling, finishing something for us and then prepped backgrounds for 5 greeting cards. Bill went to the Hangar until 4:30 when he came up for 40 winks. I think it was 42 but who's counting?

Dark clouds bring rain
We took a drive next door to get some instruction from Dot and Gord on looking after a couple of things while they take a vacation. We were home by 6 and the dark clouds in the north let fall a nice steady rain. A very weak rainbow but one nonetheless.
We started our supper. Fish and chips for Bill and fish and onion rings for me. We managed to have everything ready at the same time! After the pots were cleaned up, he went to the Hangar, Gibbs went out for his business and then to the cool floor and I finished my blog.

When the sun came out, I searched the east sky for a rainbow. It isn't brilliant but I found it.
We cleaned up the dishes, Bill went back to the Hangar and I tried to finish my blog. I've been on a 'new' movie kick so found one tonight that is different. It's called the Dressmaker with Kate Winslet. You could say it tickled my fancy.
It seemed to cool down just after the rain, which was calm and steady for about 30 minutes. A nice rain. The rain pails and most barrels are full and runneth over. π€ This was a great day even though our original plans have changed from last night.

Then it cleared right up
We were cooler, only 23.33C/74F, and it was quite perfect with windows open. Happy 4th of July to all of our American friends. Celebrate your hearts out!

These wooden letters from Michael's needed brightening up. π€·♀️ Good night!
Thank you for stopping in.

if you look super close, you can actually see a double rainbow... the higher one is very dim but it is there (starts about mid-pic mid-raindrop & arcs above the trees)
