Park Place RV Park
On Saturday, Jan. 18th, the most talked about event in Quartzsite history began. Ever since our first year coming to the southwest, we’ve been at the parking lot minutes after 8 am. The tent opens at 9 and each year, more and more visitors are doing the same. Parking space is limited so early arrival is the best idea. 😊 Nancy rode with Bill and I and Duncan and Patty followed in their car.
Good morning! No walk this morning for obvious reasons. |
Bill went
in around 8:30 to be sure their booth was set up and to meet Tommy. President
and Vice President are in the house! The 4 of us left our vehicles around 8:45
and met Ken and Kim at the entrance. Two by two, the 6 of us walked the 3
aisles at our leisure. Pens, drink koozies, stickers, bags and candies were
gathered from the tables that offered them FREE.
Approaching and entering the big tent. |
One of my
favourite booths is the pretzels. You get handed about 20 2” pretzels in a
napkin and you walk down the row, tasting the numerous dip flavours. I chose a
few that I really liked but Hickory Bacon, Spinach Parmesan and Maui Onion were
3 of my choices. No, I didn’t buy any but I will do it again when I got back
near the end of the week. 😊
Quartzsite Desert RC Flyers Bill and Tommy man the booth. |
Nancy and
I checked out a few things, listened to a couple of vendor spiels and yet we
only bought a couple of things. I bought a Yoder Do Sunflower bookmark. If you
look closely you’ll see that it is made by paper quilling. I don’t think I’ll
offend my teacher, Jess, but the sunflower and price was in my hand before I
knew it.
Nancy and I were surprised at the two large vendors selling gun magazines/ammo. |
She knows
of this vendor so we stopped in. Jess if you stop in Victor said he’ll gift you
a free bookmark because I mentioned you and that you talked kindly about their
work. 😊 You are right, they have a lot of
beautiful pieces too. The other thing I bought was for someone special in our
house. Yes, Gibbs got a new bag of Yak Cheese bones. ♥
Paper quilling booth |
Nancy joined
later and the pieces are falling in quite nicely now. 😊 At 3:30, we took Gibbs and Cooper for their walk and it was
tea time. Bill will be tired when he gets home, after his first long day on his
feet. But I'm sure he'll be hungry too.
Always fun things to see. The little blow up boy's hand was just flopping back and forth. |
It’s a
beauty of a day out there, 68F/20C under clear sunny skies. The winds from the
NNW were low but still held a chill when you were in the shade. I enjoyed the
first day at the show but Nancy and I didn’t get through the rv’s yet. We’ll go
back another day and take time to do that. Bill
was home just after 5:30 so I started Rosy, the air fryer cooking the thighs.
I think one more day will finish this puzzle |
In the
microwave, I cooked a rice side dish and we were eating by 6:30. Both things
were perfectly done and tasted great. After I told Bill to sit and relax, I
washed the few pots and mugs and we had an ice cream drumstick. They are too
good but we’re worth it! 😊 ♥
Supper was good. Haven't had this side dish for awhile. It was tasty. |
We
watched a movie together and enjoyed the evening. Bill will be off again in the
morning, just not quite as early. This was a nice day, first show of the RV
show and the huge block of Kuehn St. and I-95 was packed.
My purchases today. Good night! |
Thank you
for popping in.
You know me well. I'm not offended about your purchase. We bought 3 cards and a pair of earrings last year from them too. Haha, I'll stop and see them Tuesday probably. You're too sweet
