Park Place RV Park
On Monday, Jan. 13th our week began much like the usual. We were all up before 7, Bill showered and prepared to go flying with Duncan. Gibbs and I got up and I prepared to go for my walk. Our weather meter read 37F/3C but my phone was reading 45F/7C. Hmm, how to dress? Since there was no wind registering and the sky was free of clouds, I layered up as per usual but skipped the toque.
Good morning!
Wait a minute, I'm facing west.
The moonset is beautiful.
My hoody was enough coverage over my ears if necessary. It felt brisk as I headed to the south, which is the direction of Coyote Fresh foods. Once again, yesterday, I forgot Bill’s bread so wanted to surprise him with some fresh-baked French bread this morning, so he had some for lunch. It was a lovely walk and I was back within 30 minutes, on time to say goodbye to my pilot. 😊
And there is the beginning of our day in the east sky. |
I listen
to music, as you know, and with other sad things on my mind I’m not sure if
that is good or bad. When a song came on by the Righteous Brothers (you know
the one), I thought of how Bill and I love to dance to it. That took my mind to
Rob and Pat, how they probably loved it for the same reason. The way the brain
works is interesting. Anyway, is it better not to listen to music? Nah,
memories are good, even sad ones.
So, not a lot of pictures today but
I wanted to show you our great deal on chicken thighs.
5 meals for $8.34! Awesome.
The boys
left, and after eating my cereal, Gibbs and I went for his walk. I’m trying a
new harness for him, well an old one really, but the leash doesn’t clip to his
collar now. I don’t know if he notices so much but I feel better that it doesn’t
pull on his neck, clipping up onto the harness on his back. 😊 It’s easy to put off and on each time we walk and it doesn’t
seem to bulky. It was a nice walk with him too.
At 9:15, I took my pool cue over to the clubhouse. Nancy was ready to go at the same time. What a great turnout! There were 6 of us playing today. We missed Sue today but hopefully next Monday, she will be back. I came in at 5th place, ha ha, I just kept getting the wrong cards! The table has been levelled and it is nicer seeing the balls remain where we hit them.
we had a little visitor today.
Returned again and again.
I'm glad we picked white sugar up at Walmart!
That's all I use it for.
Back home
for lunch, we had sandwiches on the French bread and then the 5 of us hopped in
Black Beauty for a grocery run. We went to Walmart in Parker, where I firmly
believe we get the best prices on what we need. It’s my go-to choice from here,
and even from home. We were back home before 3:30 and because Bill missed a
snooze, he went upstairs with a headache while I unpacked the food. Walmart was
crazy busy, not surprising just after a weekend.
And this is the Moon's performance tonight.
We have a great view from here.
The fridge and cupboards are well-stocked for now so we won’t starve for at least 3 weeks. 😊 We relaxed for the rest of the afternoon, until suppertime. It was a poor-man’s supper (after buying all those groceries!), Lasagna hamburger helper. It was planned this morning so we stuck to it. It’s a filling meal and an easy one. It was good!
The top pix was taken on our little Canon Powershot. The rest on my Samsung phone. |
After
clean up, Bill brought his plane inside to repair some landing gear so he has
something to fly in the morning. I finished my blog and watched more episodes
of Sex in the City from my dvd collection. What fun! I enjoyed them then, and I’m
enjoying them now.
Thank you
all for the heartfelt blessings and prayers on Pat’s and our behalf. It is
true, we are the dearest of friends with the Aljoe’s, their children as well,
and understand that they have a hard road ahead of them. They are strong,
together, and have many friends surrounding them with love and support. No, we
are not flying home, I’m sure Pat understands that. Instead, we will continue
to make the best of a winter here, something they were no longer able to do. ♥
A few more memories |
Cadillac Ranch, TX Look closely, you may find yourself here.
Such fond memories.
A cool day, beginning with a full moon and ending with one. If I was a better photographer, like our friend, Nancy, my pictures would be much nicer to share. However, this is my best shot. We did reach 61F/16C today but that chilly wind made it seem much cooler than that. Still enjoyable, thank you to the sunshine.
No house is too small to bring your planes
in for repair. 😁😁
Good night!
Thank you
for your visit.
Oh my gosh Patsy, I haven't been able to read your blogs while we are away but I did see tonight's which of course had me going back to last nights. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know from your blog that Rob and Pat where good friends and travel companions ... so heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are perfect! I love the last ones of great friends. Lucky Bill has room to work on his planes inside. At least you have plenty of counter space!!
