There’s a Bird in the Suite!! An Important Call

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Jan. 14th our day started normally. Bill and Gibbs up first at 6, then Gibbs and I up by 7. I slept well, holy cow, I was out quickly and don’t remember moving or waking once until 6. That is a good night’s sleep! I checked the temperature, (41F/5C), checked the current wind speed, (1.1 mph) and then I knew how layered I needed to be for my walk. 😊

Good morning!

I headed out at 7:15 and had made the right choices. I was quite warm even though the sun had not yet risen. When I got back, I had my cereal and tea at my laptop. The title indicates a visitor in our home this morning and indeed there was. Nancy, who is parked kitty-corner to us, was taking her van in to have something done. You can read her blog here for details.

She asked if she could bring Jon, her parrot, to stay at our place until she returned. Of course! Gibbs wasn’t as positive as we were, but he sure kept an eye on her. I think he should go into the bird-watching field. 😊 We went for his walk and after his business was done, he returned home directly to sit in front of Jon’s cage. He just wasn’t sure what to think.

Gibbs just wasn't sure what to think of
our little visitor.

There was an order I needed to place so made my call and took care of business. Around 11:00, I was ready to work on a puzzle so walked over for an hour and started a new one that Nancy brought me. It looks tough but at least the border went together quickly enough. I’ll be dragging my friend back over here with me to help!

A new puzzle begins

Bill and I had sandwiches for lunch and planned another simple supper. There was just enough leftover from last night’s meal for Bill and I had 2 pieces of pizza for me. Settled! I invited Nancy and Patty to join Sue, Angie, Bette, Linda and I in a game of Pokeno. All but Patty attended and the 6 of us had a great time. Nancy and I even got quite lucky in the second half of the game! 😊 We came home with quite a bundle of pennies.

A nice looking day but the
winds still cooled things off.

When I returned, Bill and I made a phone call back home to Pat to see how she is doing. It was great to hear her voice, more stable than Sunday morning’s calI (of course) and we had a nice little chat. She is as you would expect, taking it day by day, doing her knee exercises with her son and just doing her best to be strong. Our love and prayers go out to her.

I brought home a grapefruit from
the tree behind our park.

I took Gibbs for his walk around 3 and then made my tea while working on a blog post. Our downstairs tv/fire stick combo has been acting up and I’ve been unable to watch normal tv for a few nights. That is why I’ve been watching my dvd’s. Bill put his mind to it this afternoon and after a system ‘restart’, we are back to normal. Woohoo! He said something about me owing him ‘BIG’ time, not sure what that means! 😊

Gibbs poses

Supper was quick to reheat, Hamburger Helper in the microwave and pizza in the air fryer. We have ice cream in one form or another for dessert. Nancy and I have a busy morning tomorrow so you can check in to see what’s going on. The day has warmed up 20 degrees since this morning but the winds have also increased again. Not as bad as they were, so that is a blessing. This has been a good day, all in all, I hope you can say the same.

Supper
Simple, delicious.
Good night!

Thank you for your pop-in. Your comments are always welcome.

  1. That puzzle!!!!! Who got that thing? It's ridiculously hard, so I know you'll get it done in no time. Can't thank you enough for babysitting. I was tickled at Gibbs reaction!!!

    1. Yah, what friend would give that puzzle to a friend? Ha! You would! Thank you, I love it!
You're welcome, Gibbs actually did the babysitting.

  3. Gibbs is really watching that bird. I should tell you that at first I thought a bird had entered the suite unannounced and unwanted.

    God bless.

    1. Yes, he sure was!
That was my plan - to see how many people fell for that title! 🀣

  4. I guess you wouldn't really be interested in a skate trail, worshipping sun and warmth as you do.

    1. Not now, maybe, but I used to LOVE skating and that would be fun!

  5. I'm sure Gibbs was confused - the only birds he will have seen were outside the RV.
Good of you to keep in touch with Pat, knowing that her friends are there for support (even if at a distance) is comforting.
The winds have picked up here this afternoon, I should have waited until today to do my laundry. ;)

    1. You're right about the birds and at home, the geese are what I call 'birdys' too.
Pat was so happy to hear from us and visa versa.
I wish the weather was warmer and calmer for your trip to Yuma!

    1. I know, every once in a while (if Jon moved) there would be a low grumble in his throat. Too funny.
