The Ridge
On Tuesday, Oct. 14th everything that was 'officially' Thanksgiving weekend, came to an end. We can and should still be thankful though for all the things we are blessed with in our lives. No end to that. π¦π¦
I think our routine will slowly fall into place, now that Bill isn't working and mine is soon coming to an end........just like the weekend celebrations did. We were awake after 6:30 and after Gibbs went out, he and I slept in until 7:30.

Bill has competition,
these burgers were delicious!
The only thing on our agenda today, well, the most important thing, was lunch with our newest granddaughter and grandson. It was time to meet Quinn! At 9:45 we pulled out of the lane and drove to Alma, about an hour from home.

Alexander has a BIG truck.
He lifted it up on this bench and watched
red and green tractors go by.
He's a happy little man.
Bill's 3rd daughter, Krystal, and husband, Matt, had invited us for lunch. Alexander was being a little Hallmark since the moment we walked in and entertained us with his tractors and blocks, making us coffee in his little kitchen and playing hockey/golf in and around our feet. He is a charmer!

Daddy was looking for his ball under the couch. Alexander helped. π

Alexander is 2 and helps his dad with the farming. Sometimes, he plays hockey and sleeps in the net. π
Now, Quinn. Quiet as a mouse, stole our hearts immediately. Such a tiny wee babe, 3 weeks old on Thursday, 7 lb. 7 oz. of sweetness. πππΆπΌ

Grandbabies are for cuddling. Isn't she a sweetie?
Matt barbecued bacon cheeseburgers, of the same caliber as Bill's, and potato and bean salad enhanced lunch.

It was a very tasty lunch.

Grandpa gets his turn
Watermelon, pumpkin pie and whipped cream topped it off., We won't need much, if any, supper tonight! Delicious! It was a wonderful visit, especially as we know both children will be 6 months older when we next see them. It will be such a change.
We were on our way home by 1:30 and decided to go the way of Hanover to run a couple of errands. Bill went to First Choice Haircutters for a much needed cut, I went to Independent Grocers for 2 Okios 11% fat yogourts and we met at Walmart for a few dairy products.

Clouds returned off in the
distance for our drive home.
With that unloaded and put away, we all went upstairs for a snooze. Why are we so tired? LOL Bill had more lights in the kitchen to replace so climbed on the ladder to brighten my day/my life even more! I do love brightness for most things I do.

Our meals may taste better now,
no excuses with such bright lights.
An 'electrician's tools.
I had a cup of tea and Bill had a Coke Zero and we debated supper. It was a day that started out cloudy and cleared out by mid afternoon. We reached 18C/64F before temperatures began dropping off to about 6C/43F overnight. A couple of cooler days ahead.

Supervising from his favourite position
The sun sets on another day
up on The Ridge.
(notice the bright light reflecting?)
This was a great day! We're so glad to have the time and for Krystal and Matt to find the time to fit us into their busy schedule too.

One more picture of a sleepy
Quinn Violet Marie.
Good night!
Thank you for your visit!

Beautiful photos, so much love!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Delete"I did it." OMG She's so perfect. I love her so much already.
ReplyDeleteThere, finished it for you. So jealous. I want some grandbabies, too!
Thank you for finishing it! π
DeleteAhhh great pictures of Quinn. Big brother Alexander is going to be busy when she gets bigger. I have to say though, I don't think ANYONE'S burgers are as good as Bills.
ReplyDeleteThank you, they are both such cuties.
DeleteBill will be happy to hear that!
Precious new baby. Congratulations
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteQuinn is beautiful ! Hope she has a wonderful life.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too!
DeleteQuinn is adorable, and Alexander demonstrates the energy of a two year old. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to bottle that energy?
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of Krystal and Quinn. It's a moment of quiet contemplation.
Isn't she? Alexander certainly has the energy! Yes, let's bottle it!
DeleteThat picture turned out special for sure.
Awesome pics. Alexander looks like a bundle of pure energy. Quinn is going to be a heartbreaker. I think the photo of mom and baby is captivating. Fleeting moments in time between the tick and the tock, where time stands still for a split second, the mind floods with overwhelming love for the little being she holds, and just as quickly it passes and is no longer overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteStress makes some people sleep more, some sleep less and others seem to have no worries. Soon you will slow down and the tiredness will fade, or at least it’s a nice thought. lol
Deb
Thank you Deb. I'm pleased with the picture, hoping it didn't look like she was sad. I know she is very tired. ♥
DeleteWonderful photos and Quinn is definitely a cutie as is Alexander. You will definitely see changes when you get to see them once again.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
