Too Busy for Pictures!

The Ridge

On Wednesday, Oct. 8th we slid over the hum with ease. It was a go-go day from the moment we got up. No work outside of the home but we were still up at 6:30, me included! 😐

Good morning!

I slept well and woke well so felt good giving the grounding sheet a decent review when the email came in asking for one. Their customer service alone was worth a 5 *! Bill was expecting a phone call at 9 or soon after so at 7:30 he had the utility trailer with our dismantled sofa bed hooked up and headed to Bentinck dump.

He was back by 8:30, kicking himself because he forgot it doesn't open until 9. He waited around for the call, involving our travel insurance and with that finished, around 10, he was off again. Nice to get rid of that.

While Bill and I worked on our
insurance, Gibbs worked on Goat.

We needed an ink tank for our printer to print the emailed documents from Traveller's Choice, timing for it to run out was perfect, eh? Not! We stopped at Walmart for the tank, then to Gerry's for a Sawzall that Joanne left for us and then back to Durham.

We filled the gas can for the rider and came home for lunch. I had my last soft hamburger taco, yum, and Bill had his sandwich. Not done yet, he went over to the Acreage for a bladder of water. While he was gone, I did some more clean up with the garden things.

How could there still be that
much stuffing in him?

It was a cool morning and the wind was biting in just my hoody. The sun, however, was a blessing so I forced myself to keep moving to stay warm. Before I went out, I stripped the bed and put the sheepskin mattress cover under the sheet. It was on the sofa bed too and something Bill has had for years.

I bought this jam at Stacked
Tuesday and tasted it today
on my orange zucchini bread.
Delicious!

More outside work, opening up the shelter for Bill and if I could have remembered how to start the Cub Cadet, I would have backed her out for him as well. Duh! Such an idjet! When he got home, he showed me again and let me back it out and take it over to dump our black tank.

A little chilly but still a
pretty day

I got off and left him to it. I'll get used to it, I know I will, with more practice. Outside, he finished with the water, our tank was overflowing with fresh water. Our gauge obviously isn't working. It is a 55 gallon bladder, our tank holds 100 gallons and we were down to 8. Figure that one out!

While he did that, I came in for my shower and he wasn't long after me coming in for his 30-minute siesta. Then his shower and I had my cup of tea. It seems we haven't slowed down but at least we don't have to plan or cook supper.

The Lion's Club monthly meeting is tonight and tacos are on the menu. It's okay, I never get tired of them! I feel better every day with what we accomplish, 2 bins of garden stuff are packed, a few of the empty bird feeders as well and the chairs are over by the Bunky.

Two or three tacos
and coleslaw.
Well laid out and tasty.

It has warmed up some out there, still around 11C/52F with a drop down to 0C/32F overnight. It's coming. 😔 We donned our yellow club shirts and drove to the Coummunity Centre for social 'hour' (30 minutes) at 6. It was very nice to see Jackie and Jay from Impact Tire in presence tonight.

This looks like a Hallowe'en moon.
Spooky!

We had ground beef soft tacos for supper provided by Country Corner Eatery with warm rice pudding for dessert. Yum! The meeting went until 8:30 and when we got home, Gibbs was happy to see us. I felt like a hot drink so just had a lemony salty drink of hot water.

Looking back to Oct. 8th, 2021.
Before the new gate, before the gate garden.
What a change!
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  4. So, do you restuff the goat or let it be? What's your official leaving date this year planned? I love active you both are and going strong. Give Gibbs a scruffle on the head and Bill a kiss.
    Love Melynda.

  5. That's what I called a run around day! You were very busy, and got lots accomplished.
I love tacos too, ground beef at home and fish in restaurants. Unless they are fish sticks, then yuck!
