Birthdays! Costco, A Daughter Visit, Hobby Store

The Ridge

On Thursday, Oct. 13th it was a big day for 3 young people in our life. Two of our grandsons, Carter and Zach are turning 16 today. Now that’s BIG!! It is a turning point in their lives and opens up different doors. They are both responsible young teens and I wish them both the happiest of birthdays. 😊

Also, on this same day, our second oldest granddaughter, Olivia, is turning 13! She also is facing a turning point as she steps into the world of teens. Happy Birthday, dear Olivia! 😊 Now that the wishes are out of the way, we’ll move on with our day. Shortly after 8:30, Bill and I were ready and left the Suite in Gibbs’ capable paws and drove to Costco in Guelph. It is just over an hour’s drive from here.

A heavy blanket of clouds can't be good!
But the blue is encouraging!!

It was a mildish morning to start with the sky and the forecast threatening some rain but we had a dry drive. We topped up with gas at $1.58.9/litre at Costco’s pumps (the cheapest we’d seen along the way, including Durham) and spent exactly what we figured we would in the store. We are stocked up on most things, with just a few things not available on the shelves.

When we left there, we drove a few more minutes to get one more goodbye hug from my daughter at Regency Fireplace Products. We chatted outside for a while, long enough to get a chill in my bones but ‘warm’ enough to get her well wishes for our journey. Lastly, we drove to Flight Craft in Kitchener, a hobby store, for Bill to pick up a few things he needs. Then we headed home.

The clouds produced heavy rains
before AND after we returned hom

M had called and asked if I could stop by this afternoon for some help on his phone so I was able to get some pictures of the ’91 Chev truck in it’s ‘near-finished’ state. It just needs mirrors and door handles re-installed and it will be moved outside. I’ll be leaving on a good note, knowing it is out of the shop and M can move the VW inside for him to work on over the winter. 😊

When it gets outside
that sparkly paint will really pop

It is pretty now
and we're pretty glad she's done!

It was obvious that they had heavy rain here at home while we were gone and M confirmed that. It rained later on after I had my tea and baked up another batch of pumpkin seeds. One more pumpkin to go.

These are delicious!

We have a bit of ham left to eat up with whatever else I can find to serve with it. Sometimes suppers are a surprise.

It was good with squash and Stove Top stuffing

I half expected a rainbow
but couldn't see one out our window
in either direction

It was a good day with something else taken care of.

Happy Birthday to the teens!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping in.
