The Ridge
On Wednesday, Aug. 26th I took my time getting up and leaving the Suite as I was meeting a lady at the Mat at 8:30. So, although I was up by 6:45, it was a slower start. Bill was up and ready to leave, with Black Beauty again, soon after me.

Good morning!
He was dropping her at Impact Tire in town for Jay to have a look at the tire in question and inform us on what is necessary. I stopped for water first and I was alone at the Mat for 20 minutes or so. Boy was surprised when Sandy popped in as soon as I arrived. I've not seen him, my boss, all season!

One Moonflower today

I was turning right at this
inteersection and I was grateful
not to be driving into that sun!
He picked up the garbage and recycling so that wa good, it was piling up. The overhead LED light in the office was replaced so all was well again. 😀 Before he left, he asked me for the month's hours so he could pay me on Monday. I texted him a total, 'guesstimating' the last 2 days.

Here is Black Beauty in this
nice clean shop.
I had tested another dryer but left it ready for the first customer. As it turned out, it was a regular lady who actually had written the note last week that she lost her $4.25. I was happy to help her out today but offering the free wash, in a sense reimbursing her too.

In case you were wondering how
Chippy was doing.......
this is all for him and his siblings.
The bird feeders that he can't get to
are on another pole.
When I left there, I drove to Impact Tire for C the A tickets. There she was, BB, sitting in the bay with her two back driver's side tires off. I said hello to Jay and chatted with Jackie for a bit before leaving our big beauty in capable hands. I did comment on 'what a nice truck!' when I stopped. 🤭
On my way home, I stopped at Eckhardt's Shell station and picked up 3 (Phil gave me 5 just in case) more fair tags. While there, I bought 1/2 doz. of sweet corn too at .50¢ per cob. I love corn on the cob! Gibbs did a run around when I got back, checking the tires and do his business.

Jumping ahead here, I'm back from cleaning the bnb and this is lunch.
Robin texted at 9:20 that the guests had left so I cut some cheese for a snack and made my coffee-to-go. Gibbs sat in my big chair waiting for his treat and promised to look after the house while I was gone.🐕 I trust he'll do just that in between snoozes. (yah right).

Gibbs and I walked down for the mail. I was surprised to get my free thermos from Cheerios!

The front field looking nice again. Gibbs waits in the shade for me.

The Dahlias are doing well.
I was back home after cleaning at 12:05 and made my usual quesadilla for lunch. It was stuffed but oh, so good! Mostly today, I sat with Gibbs and read my book. It is so hard to put down, smack dab in the trial/courtroom prep. John Grisham knows how to capture an audience!

So, some rolling for tummy rubs,
some ball playing and some resting
ensued.
We even sat outside for a while and then came in at 4 for my tea. I organized my fair entries and made sure all tags were filled out properly. I want to enter my quail family but the Mrs. has come off her legs again.........Bill will need to reglue her for me. The category is '3 vacation memoirs'.

My entries for the fair.
Now I can focus on the October show.
Well, I guess I have to pack for
Ladyfest, it's just around the corner!
With that done, I went back to my book. I hope to finish it tonight. At night, I get into a movie and then I'm too tired to read. 🤷♀️

This happens once a year, I think.
Gibbs started barking because the
BIRDS had him spooked.
Now there's a movie for ya!
This has been a good day, reaching about 23C/73.4F with a fair bit of sun and a fair bit of white clouds. No rain. 👏

Bill's bc burgers did not disappoint
tonight. We finished the kale salad too.
Good night!
Thank you for stopping by.

Quails would be awesome for your art. You posted early on a pic of them on your travels south. Dee
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee, I should try and make them!
DeleteWe were gifted two cobs of sweet corn last Saturday at the Elks. We had it on Monday but I found it way too sweet! Good luck with your entries at the fair 😊
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I've never had corn that is too sweet.........so maybe ours hasn't been! haha
Deletethank you MT for the luck.
I am impatiently waiting for my corn to develop in my garden. One of the stalks blew over and I opened it to see where they were at. You know those small corn cobs used in Chinese cooking? Yep, it was about that size. ;p
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your fair entries. I'm sure you are looking forward to Ladyfest too!
You made me chuckle with the Chinese corn comment. 🤭
DeleteThank you Maebeme. Yes, Ladyfest is just around the corner!
