Poker Pool and Ukeleles?

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 30th we were up by 7 and Bill hopped in the shower after I washed and dressed. I’m always excited for Mondays because of poker pool so walked with a bit of a hip/hop in my step. šŸ˜Š It was a cool 42F/5C this morning so my hoodie came in handy, covering my ears.

Good morning!

Unfortunately, my ear buds were not connecting with my phone, after trouble I had yesterday with my phone not making a sound when I received notifications. LOL Bluetooth issues but I’ll get it figured out. I turned the volume up on my phone and played Sirius XM 70’s from my pocket. That worked just fine. I met the two ladies who come from the other direction and we greeted each other briefly.

On my early walk, I noticed this tree
at the library park has fully changed colour now.
Soon, it will likely be dropping them.

Back home, Bill and Duncan were preparing to depart. We have been fortunate to have use of our solar panels for 98% of the December days and today is no different. Bill turns the inverter on and switches off the power. It makes a huge difference in our electric/hydro bill, which will be due on January 1st. šŸ˜Š

The ukelele orchestra members begin setting up at the east end of the
clubhouse.

I had my tea and Special K cereal (Walmart didn’t have Rice Krispies), which made me think of Mom. As a young teen, Bruce and I had Fluffs, Shredded Wheat or Muffets and Mom kept a box of Special K for herself. She deserved something more special every now and then and we respected that. We were little piggies and always filled our bowls to capacity! Fluffs were cheap and came in a huge bag.

Gibbs has been a really good boy
and Daddy is telling him so.
Later, they both snooze.

I walked over to Ladies Poker Pool after taking Gibbs for his regular walk. He makes me proud the way he struts along, even though there are a lot of pee-mail spots to stop, sniff and dribble on. Today, Sue had approved the ukelele orchestra members to practice at 10. Hmm, we weren’t sure how that would affect us but she made it clear that LPP was on the calendar and would still go on. It is only a temporary situation while their original venue is being remodeled.

Finished!
See the extra piece at the top of the puzzle?

The group of about 20 came in and accepted the boundaries, as did we, and it was quite communicable to everyone for the hour or so. As for pool, there were just 4 of us today, and young Jess walked away with the gold star! She missed the first game but still came out ahead. Good job! šŸ˜Š Maybe next week we’ll have a full house with all members. We were careful not to knock over any of their music stands and they were careful not to play too loud.

Gibbs started on the pavement
and his shadow followed him to the desert path.

Bill and I had lunch together and I heard that Patty is feeling better but Duncan seems to have caught a bit of the bug. Oh no! It’s going around. So far, I’ve done well, avoiding it, but as soon as I say that you know what will happen. I’ll just try and continue on the same path I’m on. We planned burgers for supper, since it is another decent day for barbecuing. Ha ha, there aren’t too many inconducive to that!

This path runs parallel to Quail Trail St.
so we aren't far but no traffic over here either.

With my boys snoozing, I started my blog and then walked to the puzzle. I’d like to get it finished in the next day or two – if possible. By 2:45, it was done! With a duplicate piece left over, I returned home. It was still pleasant outside so I opened a Seagrams Lime Margarita and sat with my book in the gazebo for an hour. Then Gibbs and I went for an early walk. Longer this time, in to the desert for a bit and then back through Arizona Sun RV Resort.

It is really hard to believe that the year is coming to an end. Wow, remember the song from 1968 ‘In the Year 2525’?  well, here we are approaching 2025 and that alone makes the sone 60 years old! My head spins when I think of what age we have become yet we are very grateful for every aging birthday. šŸ˜Š Bring them on – please!

This was a tasty little treat
for a change.

Supper was one of Bill’s bacon, cheeseburgers, loaded but I forgot a picture before it was almost gone. You’ve seen them many times though so trust me, it was just as messy and just as good! A quiet evening watching tv. I hope you’ve enjoyed your day. We reached a pleasant 73F/23C with a clear blue sky. We still need our flannel sheets though, the nights are 42F/5C or lower.

I forgot this picture a couple of nights ago.
It's funny to take a 'selfie' from our security
cameras. We're enjoying having a view of
our home while we're out too.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. I hope you avoid the cold! I got it Christmas Day and was almost over it a few days ago and then hubby got it on the 28th and now I have it again. We do like to share but in my mind this isn’t the right situation šŸ˜Š

When you said that song the year 2525 it seemed so close in my mind, thank goodness it is still 500 years away!
