Parker to Stock Up

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Dec. 5th we were all up by 7 and I was out the door within 10 minutes. It was another nice morning, brisk enough for my gloves but they were off by the time I turned into the park. I’m listening to Christmas music now, and this morning it was traditional tunes or new songs that I enjoyed. 😊

Good morning!
I was up and out before the sun rose again.
This shot is on Gibbs walk around 9.

I had my cup of tea back home and then hopped in the shower. Gibbs waits for me downstairs on the back of my recliner and when I start getting dressed, he comes up to the bedroom vying for attention. It’s his turn so just before 9, we go on his walk. He was full of energy this morning and hardly stopped to sniff at all. Just go-go-go!

Our little love bug likes
to squeeze in beside us on our steps
when we put our shoes on.
His pushes his nose under our arm.
He makes us laugh every day. 💖

Bill and Duncan had gone to the field around 8 and were home by 9:20. We had planned this morning to go to Walmart in Parker so Duncan offered to drive. I’ve said before how much I like this drive, not sure why other than the flat lands and mountains make me think of the old days. How long would it take us to travel it in a covered wagon?

The puzzle is coming along.
It is fairly hard but I'm loving the challenge
of this one.

Our cart was pretty full when we finished and D & P also got a fair number of things. I always feel good after a shop, not thinking about our shrinking dollar but instead of how stocked up we’ll be for a while. 😊 We made a second stop across the highway at CVS where Bill w/d some cash and then Patty and I walked to the Safeway next door where I found our Omega-3 vitamins. Time for home!

This is the bread I found today at Walmart.
I hope it is as good as the other stuff I used
to buy - which was out of stock today.

It was almost 1 pm by the time the items were stored away and we sat for our sandwiches. I wasn’t able to get my usual keto bread but did find one called Sola that is low carbs and zero sugar. I hope I like it better than what I bought in town, because I bought 2 loaves. Bill and Duncan went over to Woody’s to work on some ‘upgrading’ for the field and Patty was laying down for a bit. I went to the puzzle.

Gibbs and I walked and he wasn't too sure about this
blow up arch way. Love the decorations!

Another progressive hour and a half before I returned for Happy Hour in the gazebo. Today has been pleasant, 76F/24C with very little wind. As usual, around 5 the air turns cool as the sun prepares to drop behind the mountains.

We said our goodbyes and I changed into jeans and a jacket to take Gibbs around the park for his afternoon walk. It was more of a jog, he was quite energetic and walked well.

The sandwich looks better than it tasted.
The bread only got crispy on the outside.

We had grilled cheese sandwiches with pickles for supper and used up the last of the Q keto bread. I thought I’d enjoy it that way but it didn’t seem to fry up crispy, the way I like it. Oh well, it filled us and it’s gone now. 😊 Last night, I watched episode 11 of Survivor since I missed it last Wednesday so tonight I’ll see if I can stream last night’s episode 12. We’re getting down to the wire with just 7 contestants now.

Btw: regarding the quilling class I took. With just a couple of tools and the paper, I do believe I would like to try and do more of this. Jess has more classes ahead so I'll see how I do. Thank you for your kind words on my pinwheel card.

Good night!

This has been a good day. I hope you can say the same.

  3. I missed yesterday's post, so went back to read it. Love the pinwheel card!
Another good day where you are. You can't do anything about the dollar, and groceries are a necessity.

    1. Thank you Maebeme. I may have to stay at the quilling, I quite enjoyed it.
You're right about the $ so we just don't think about it too much. :)

  4. Was your grilled cheese from the Solo bread? I would sure like to find a good substitute for bread!! That puzzle is coming right along. Hugs to Gibbs!

    1. No, we used up the Q keto bread but I didn't enjoy it. I'll let you know about the Sola bread.

  5. Like yourself we like our Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Texas Toast seems to burn on the outside without melting the cheese. The best is the Thin cut, where it melts the cheese as fast as it toasts.
Be Safe and Enjoy your adventures.

    It's about time.

    1. You're right about the bread. I think Sour Dough bread is the best for grilled cheese.

  6. I heard the dollar came up a tiny bit today. Hopefully that means it will continue its upwards movement. We love grilled cheese sandwiches here.

    God bless.
