Three Becomes Five for Poker Pool! Birthday Wishes

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 9th when I woke up after 6:30, I could hear Bill was in dreamland downstairs. You know what I mean – I could hear him sleeping. 😊 I didn’t move until about 6:55 and Gibbs came over with his hugs and kisses to make sure I was awake.

Good morning!

After washing and getting dressed, I was off for my walk, listening to Sirius XM Christmas tunes. Darn it all, I wasn’t far when I realized that I left my sunglasses back at home. I like them specifically on my return trip because that’s when the sun pops and would be in my face. I was early enough that it may not have mattered but because of that, I took a shortcut and then carried on down to the residential area to add the appropriate steps.

I was on the home stretch and the rising sun
was basically behind me by now.
Love the way the saguaro looks in the glow.

It worked out pretty darn close to a mile. I made my tea, had a cut banana with cream for my breakfast and then took Gibbs for his walk. Shorts and tees were today’s dress of choice, with a forecasted high of 70F/21C. At 9:20, I took my pool stick (I should name her!) with my coffee mug over to the clubhouse. I was hopeful that the 2 ‘new’ players would show up and they did! Yay!

A fun morning.
Both new members will be putting
this on their weekly calendars.

Today, there were 5 of us. 😊 Jess and Debbie decided to join us and try it out. Thankfully, they both loved it and will become regulars. Bette is going to be the gal to beat, giving the rest of us something to work towards. I love how Jess surprised herself with how much she improved after just 2 ½ hours!

Both will changed drastically come January.

Back home at noon, Bill and I had our sandwiches and a dinner roll (because they are hard to resist) and then we took a drive into Tyson Wells. I suggested replacing the step mats we have going up to the bedroom so the other day we had a look but without any actual dimensions. We went directly to the vendor selling carpet pieces for $3 and chose the appropriate size. The steps are not identical and have a bit of a curve so Bill had to do some finagling on the pieces. They look great and that little bit, spruces things up. I vacuumed after he finished.

Bottom photo - strange - both covers are the same colour
but they sure don't look it here!
They fit really nice.

We stopped at Moon Mountain Mail and then took a quick drive out to Tyson Wash. Back home, I cleaned up the puzzle from the table and around 4, we had Happy Hour with the Sharps until 5. The air is sure cooling off, the winds today are not helping. I took Gibbs for a walk and we started cooking supper. Fish and chips tonight. This has been a good day. I’m quite happy about the way Ladies Poker Pool is turning out, with more players. Small things……….’nuff said.

While I vacuumed, Gibbs crawled over behind Daddy
for protection.
Can you see him? He's adorable!

Palm trees, cactus, all lovely views
against the sun

Supper was good and clean up was easy. We spent the evening in front of the tv. One day, I’ll have to get back to my book but it just isn’t grabbing me the way it should. Or, I’m just too busy doing other things!

Supper was good and easy.

Today, we heard that this beautiful
hotel in Bayfield had the roof cave in from
the weight of heavy snow.
My sisters and I ate here during Ladyfest
this past summer.
Sad but will surely be repaired.

Two birthday wishes today. One to a special friend back home, Brenda, I hope your day was a great one! The other is a heavenly wish, to Daddy. I hope you are celebrating too! 💘💘

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
These old pictures show more than the
main subject. Look at our old radio. 😃

Good night all.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. If each piece of Carpet was turned in opposite directions when cut to shape, that is why the Grain looks so different.
That is sad about the Bayfield Hotel.
    Dinner looks tasty.
Be Safe and Enjoy your pool league.

    It's about time.

    1. I think you've misunderstood about the step covers. They are both the same, cut exactly the same way. The photo shows one blue and the other black but speaking for Bill, he did cut them properly.
It is sad about the historic hotel.

  5. Good to hear your Poker Pool group is getting increased participation. It reminds me of the say, "if you build it, they will come."
A day of shorts and tees, even with some wind sounds good right now.
