Park Place RV Place
On Friday, (TGIF! for all you workers), Dec. 6th we were up at the same time. I woke with a bit of concern over my left eye acting up but soon gathered that I was wearing the glasses my optometrist suggested I stay away from. Bad me. The prescription is not the best but I wear them because they are transition. I switched them before going for my walk and wore my over theglasses sunglasses. Got that? 😊
Good morning!
I am starting to love the before glow
almost as much as the after glow.
No
problems on my walk nor since I returned. Phew! It’s scary when things go awry
with your eyes, just like with any other aging body part. I had my tea and half
a Pomelo before Gibbs and went out the door. I’m glad I changed from my heavy
stretch pants to capris and short sleeves, as the morning had already warmed up
nicely. Gibbs let me know where he wanted to walk, how fast and how far so he
was happy.
Almost, but gee, this is so pretty!
We bumped
into Jess, our class teacher, and she informed me that she got my message and
had added 3 of us to her class list. Yes, 3 of us, it will be fun on Wednesday!
I made my b p coffee and just as I was about to walk to the clubhouse, Bill and
Duncan returned. A quick hello and see ya, and I was at the puzzle.
Bette was
doing her laundry in between cleaning the stove so helped with a few pieces
while there. 😊 It won’t be done today but possibly
tomorrow, we’ll see. I forgot to take a picture when I left. I was home for lunch with Bill and I reheated the last 2
pizza slices. It is still very good! We planned supper and Bill went for a
quick doze until 1 pm. We all piled into Black Beauty and took a drive to Tyson
Wells.
For those
who don’t know, this is an area on Kuehn St. in Quartzsite where all the tent
vendors set up and stay set up through until at the very least, the beginning
of March. Some stay longer. It is always fun and interesting to walk through
each year so we often go many times during our winter stay. There is no ‘bargaining,’
prices are set as these vendors have to pay a rental fee for their spot. Pay
what they ask or move on, basically. 😊
With the boys snoozing, it gave me ample time begin today’s post and that means a head start before the evening closes in on us. I touched base with my best gal back home to see how she is doing after knee surgery. Pat and I chat back and forth throughout the seasons since we leave home. She is coming along, beginning her Physio and hopefully headed for a speedy recovery. Some of you know Pat, and I know you wish the same thing for her. ♥
Our sunset isn't much different than our sunrise |
We walked
through a few of the tents, a fair number have not yet arrived but along the
main strip, it is getting filled up. We each found a few things to bring back
with us and that was our first taste of Tyson Wells – this winter. We’ll be
back a few times before we leave here in the spring. Back home, we met for
Happy Hour and then I took Gibbs for his walk.
Bill and I stepped out of the norm tonight with a homemade Spanish/Mexican meal. I used to make tacos, years ago, but didn’t think Bill enjoyed them so I stopped. Lately, I’ve discovered that he doesn’t mind them at all. 😊 I’d bought the flat bottom hard shells and for this beginning trial, I bought a can of Hormel’s chili.
Our messy tacos were delicious!
I heated it, even though it was runnier than I’d hoped, piled it in the shells and added lettuce, shredded cheese and sour cream. My, oh my, but it was m-e-s-s-y! But sometimes the flavour takes over and all that (like loaded messy burgers) doesn’t matter. They were gooood! We cleaned up the plates and I dished out some Tillamook Oregon Dark Cherry ice cream for dessert. It has been a long time since we’ve had this luxury in the Suite! Today was a great day, 76F/24C. How many is that in a row? I love Arizona! ♥
It has been a long time since we've had
Tillamook ice cream. We enjoyed it very much.
Good night!
Thank you
for your visit. I enjoy your comments and try to respond to each one individually.
We had a taco hamburger helper last night, I do not recommend. I would not have thought to put chili in taco shells, but it would certainly add flavour and a good crunch with the shells.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the misspelled words too - stuff like that makes me cringe. I did wonder at the prices, perhaps she sorts the items and puts them out by a certain value? Or the items come in on Friday and are reduced in price over the week?
I think we've had that HH too but weren't keen either.
DeleteThe prices decrease but I'm not sure how some of the items were even worth their starting prices.
Funny the spelling! Tacos look tasty! Sometimes messy is good, especially when it's followed by Tillamook!!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!!
DeleteWhoever wrote the sign has beautiful printing..but the spelling Not! It would be interesting to see what ll is in that tent. Tillamook has the best ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI'll go back another day but Kim doesn't think much will be left by Thursday.
DeleteIf you make tacos again, try Dennisons Chili with no beans. It is way better than Hormel, but it can be hard to find sometimes. Disappeared entirely during the pandemic, I had withdrawal pains over that.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'll try and find some!
DeleteAfter many years of Facebook I very seldom notice missed spelled words but the printing was very nice. Your dinner would have also made very tasty nachos.
ReplyDeleteLol....mispelled
DeleteMisspelled words jump out at me like crazy!! Drives me a little bit nuts, I should have been a proofreader.
DeleteThey definitely didn't use Spell Check when making the sign.
ReplyDeleteI found lots of bargains at Tyson Wells.
Those Tacos look tasty.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Thanks Rick. No spell check there!
DeleteAs soon as there will be free space in the travel trailer freezer, that Oregon Dark Cherry ice cream will take up residence in there!
ReplyDeleteHaha no doubt!! It's delish!!
DeleteFish fillets on Friday and today I am making stew in the slow cooker. Love the look of that ice cream.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yum, your meals put mine to shame Jackie.
DeleteBut I can dish up a mean helping of Tillamook!
