A Wimpy Weather Day

Pilot Knob RV Resort, Winterhaven CA Today, Monday, Dec. 27th the bravest thing I did, in the early hour of 7:45, was take Gibbs for our half hour walk around the park. The wind and full cloud cover made for a chilly start to the day. We had our walk though and had our morning drinks after I returned. I’d planned for Bocce Ball at 9:30 and Bill planned for a run into Yuma to a couple of locations.
Our early walk was dull and cold
The fresh air was great but I was happy to get back home Two more jaunts outside with the little pooch and I determined it was too cold to stand around the court waiting for a turn to throw the ball. If the sun was in the forecast, that would be different but it wasn’t. Bill left for town around 10 and I decided to try and make a recipe I found called Baked Keto Oatmeal. Worth a shot but when finished, although it was tasty enough, it wasn’t more than what I’d have like granola with yogourt or ice cream. ☹
Gibbs got a new dish for Christmas and he's eaten out of it for a few days. This morning, he didn't eat hardly anything so we left it in his dish and finally with encouragement around noon, he gobbled it up. Bill returned home sooner than expected as one of the locations was closed. He assumes that was because of Christmas Day falling on Saturday. We’ll check online to see whether he’ll go tomorrow. Bill had Gibbs out for a walk at one point but the remainder of the day was cuddled up indoors with our books. I finished mine. Find Her by Lisa Gardner is an excellent mystery, leaving you guessing to the very end.
He looks so innocent, doesn't he?
But it doesn't take him long to do this to his new chew toy For supper, it was a mixed-up bag of leftovers. We had some ribs, some mashed potatoes and still some of the sloppy Joe hamburger sauce to clean up. Other than the issue of reheating various things to be ready and hot enough at the same time, it all worked out well. Bill’s toasted bun was the only thing cooked differently. There was plenty of food with still some sauce, potatoes and some meat off the ribs left.
Even he was relaxing indoors today Before supper, I watched a movie, that I may have seen years ago, called Practical Magic. That was fun and when it ended, Ghost came on. So, it was an entertaining evening while I worked on my blog post. Not much happened today and after dishes, it was a non-happening evening as well. 😊 It didn’t get any warmer than 59F/14C so we appreciated our warmth inside.
Supper was good Good night! Thank you for stopping in.

  2. Hoping it warms and you see that beautiful sunshine you love! You do have a beautiful home if you have to be inside. Love the fireplace burning! I love leftovers :)

  3. It’s tough being in the desert only on those coolish days as we feel we should be outside, I always feel the same way out there. Gibbs looks like he’s got things all figured out and soon he may just claim that chair. Haha. Hope you and Bill have the greatest new year.

  4. Hopefully the weather improves soon for you. It seems there is a lot of cold and snow in the northern states and it's miserably cold here. I dashed out to feed the birds this morning and made a beeline back to the house. At least the sun is shining.

  6. If the sun comes out 14 C is nice walking weather with Gibbs but I guess the sun just slept in that day. Gibbs seems very much like my Belle who has to be cajoled and encouraged to eat her meals! I like your ribs (hmm, yummy) and mash potatoes. I am going to have that for New Year's dinner BUT WITH RICE too!!
