Finishing Things Up, Carl’s Jr!

Winterhaven, CA On Tuesday, Dec. 21st the Richards’ family were up and at ‘em by 7. Gibbs is such a good little sleeper and didn’t wake us up until then. ๐Ÿ˜Š I took him for our walk, or maybe he took me since I let him lead, and returned just before 8. Bill and I got ready and each had a bowl of cereal. He had his last dental appointment at 9:30 to fit his ‘new’ partial plate. No pictures, however, I can tell you that my 'secret Santa's sweet smile is even sweeter! ♥
The sky was cloud covered so this was a lovely surprise
We arrived at Los Algodones early, intentionally, and walked down Snowbird Alley to fine Marlon Brando and Israel. :) They are the sign and mailbox (& saws, & well, you name it) painters. They will get our business every time if possible. So, we placed an order for our new wooden name sign, this time adding our new addition to the family. It would be about an hour so we continued on to Dr. Eva’s to wait for his appointment.
I like this little decorated 'flat' tree in the park As it turned out, the waiting room was busy so we had to wait until closer to 10 before he went in. It was a short time in the chair and they were all pleased with the fit and look of the addition to his ‘hardware’. ♥ Perfect! While waiting, we all watched the movie The Unforgivable with Sandra Bullock. It is classed as a Drama/Thriller but all I know is I wasn’t sure I wanted to watch it but then I did.
And here is the dead tree from the desert. This time, not lit up by the sun's glow
If you look closely, you'll see the curious little bum in there
For Deb D. The Ocotillos are still brown/gray here too Because we left before it was over, I now have to find it somewhere and rent it in order to see the ending. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We picked up our sign, which Marlon was just finishing and it was perfection once more. Back home, we let Gibbs out for a walk and then drove to Yuma Palms mall. First, Sam’s Club was on the list for a few things and then we were both hungry enough to go to Carl’s Jr. for lunch.
Told you that Gibbs led the way Yes, fast food, but it is one of the places that Bill especially enjoys for burgers. It didn’t disappoint but the fries were the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Nice and salty, just the way I like them. Lastly, a stop at Fry’s for a few more items and then home for the rest of the day. It was shortly after 2 by the time we had all the items put away and I needed to go for a snooze upstairs. Gibbs joined me. ♥
Marlon Brando makes our sign, from a blank slate
Marlon and Israel's little business corner. Israel gives us a real deal.
We love it! At 3, I was up and after making a cup of tea, I went up to see what puzzle Elaine had going. I hadn’t been up for a while. She was working away at the one we chose the other day so we worked at it together until close to 5 when she left. I kept an eye on the time and light of day as I put a few more pieces in. This one is a challenge, which we love, so I hated to leave but I didn’t want to walk back in the dark.
These pictures are from when we were in town.
Isn't this unique? A condo birdhouse between two palms
Carl's Jr. put a smile on our faces
Look what pulled up beside us, I love the colour
The next puzzle. Oh yes, it will be a challenging one
Bill and I didn’t need much for supper, after that filling lunch, so soup it was. Later on, we can snack if we feel the need for more. I worked on my blog and downloaded pictures while watching a movie with Bill. This will be another quiet evening in front of the tv. I haven’t started a new book yet; the mood hasn’t hit me to do that yet. ๐Ÿ˜Š This was a nice day; I hope you can say the same.
The sky started out interesting and ended the same way. Good night! Thank you for stopping in.

  1. I was hoping the Ocotillos would be green this way but it was not to be, I still think they are pretty though. Thank you for the picture. Waved you way as we went by Pilot Knob today on our way to Yuma for a grocery pick up and a stop at Harbor Freight. Tom got an early Christmas present...lol

    2. I would have thought the ocotillos would be green now too. I guess I forget from year to year when they change and when they bloom. I wonder what Tom got for Christmas??
Thought I felt someone waving! ๐Ÿ™‹‍♀️

    1. The free hand painting has me baffled. He never seems to make mistakes so quite talented.
I'm happy to see Bill's smile and even brighter than before with a new 'toofie'. x3

  6. I love the sunrise and sunset pictures. The dead tree....that's how my hair looks in the morning. Glad to see Bill get his Carl's Jr. It's nice that one is close to the freeway. They have a new sourdough burger but I still prefer the sourdough Jack. But Carl's is our burger "go to place". Elva
