On Sunday, Nov. 18th we
were awake and up to new surroundings by 6:30. Still dark but I opened the blinds
anyway. Only our friends to see in our windows and I doubt they were up yet.
Behind us is a hill of rock, stone and sand and occasionally (depending on the
time of day) our quail friends. We are in Site 9 and I’m blown away by how
empty the park is this time.
Things are very neat and old rv’s
that seemed to sit with no inhabitants have been moved out and/or onward to rv
heaven. It was too dark to walk but the temperature was lovely at 54F already.
Bill and I had our morning brew and read a few recent blog posts from our
friends. I didn’t go back any further than yesterday, mainly at this time, I
just wanted to see where everyone was and what they were up to.
this is one of the oldest outfits on the property |
Then, with my tea finished, I went
for a walk around the park. I do love this park. The wind doesn’t bother us and
we were welcomed yesterday with some beautiful calm weather. The temperature
today made a steady climb from the early morning 54F to mid-70’s by 2 o’clock.
Perfect weather in our books. Bill and Rob had started yesterday on trying to
fix our bedroom slide.
What's not to like? |
I am never disappointed with the views here |
This morning, they did a double-take
to see exactly what they’d need and drove into Bullhead City. I asked Pat if she wanted to walk with me around 10 so we headed out as the guys were just returning. We had a nice walk around the perimeter and into the clubhouse to check things out. I'd signed us all up for the park's Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. It is a potluck so we'll need to have to come up with a contribution each.
From across the wash, against the north side are the 2 best looking fifth wheels 😁👀 |
With the purchase
of a cable, clamps, eye bolts, a pair of bolt cutters and about 5 hours of
labour, there were 3 smiling faces. They were thrilled that they were able to
replace cables etc. and with only one break for coffee and cookies, very tired
and dirty. Our bedroom slide was now moving in and out. Not perfect, but close to it. It just needed an eyeball on it each time.
There they are, working hard and steady These guys don't give up and thank goodness for that |
Nothing wrong with this site Nobody behind us, good friends beside us and the sky is pure blue |
The clubhouse has been recovered in stone that has the look of weathered wood - I love it! |
the pool is nicely heated now and I will be in it a few times before we leave |
I opened a can of low salt (noticeably so) chicken noodle soup and we had a couple of slices of freshly baked Italian bread with peanut butter. It was simple, tasty and filling. Bill was recording Madame Secretary while we watched American Pickers, one of the shows we enjoy. After all, we both visited their shop in Iowa last fall so we must like it.
Can you feel it? sitting in that heated outdoor pool looking at that gorgeous view I can! |
The clubhouse is set up nicely for breakfast or ice cream social or just playing cards |
This morning, I contributed 6 pieces to this creation |
There are 4 or 5 new rental cabins throughout the park |
a lovely picture of my lovely buddy Pat |
Awwww cute!!
ReplyDelete:) t'anks.
DeleteNice that the guys got the slide working again, you kinda need that one open. Enjoy your time there in Bullhead and surrounding areas.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, we do!
DeleteGood news about the slide!!! Very nice pictures, but I like the end collage the best.
ReplyDeleteDeb
thank you and thank you. :)
DeleteSo glad to read the slide is sliding. From the pictures and description sounds like you have landed in a nice RV Park. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys, yes, we are relieved that it moves in and out easily now but will still watch it each time.
DeleteSo nice to have handy men around!!! I've stayed in Laughlin, just across the river while visiting Oatman and the burros. This place looks very nice!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! We do enjoy this park, close to everything, even Laughlin!
DeleteFirst off, Love the pics of you and Bill. Pat did a great job capturing the love :) Gotta give Bill and Rob a lot of credit for getting that done! I agree with Nancy, very nice to have handy men!! Great pic of Pat too! I've got to say I like the way you do catch up..better than my way of doing it all in one..will try that next time :0 Beautiful park!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley. I have to admit those pics are beautiful. :) And Pat's too.
DeleteI personally prefer single day catchups myself but everyone is different.
This is a lovely park, we really like it here.
