The Morning After – Well, the Day After Too

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 26th we were up by 7:30. Bill got ready to go to the flying field while Gibbs and I went out for our walk. There were clouds hovering over the horizon to the east as the sun tried to greet the day. It was around 45F/7C and it felt a bit chilly, likely because the sun did present us with its warmth.

The ladies of Poker Pool

It was a short walk and Gibbs soon turned towards home. Bill left soon after, returning the neighbour’s crock pot on his way out. 😊 It was great to have it yesterday to keep the ‘overflow’ of mashed potatoes warm. I had my tea but opted not to have any cereal, not feeling too hungry. That might have been due to last night’s popcorn, which I don’t regret for a moment.

Gibbs approached these female
dogs who, before this picture, have already
touched noses with him

Gibbs usually barks at larger dogs
but he didn't utter a sound 💓

At 9:20, I left Gibbs with a treat (by the way, Dino has already been removed from Gibbs’ grasp – he will be repaired) and walked over to the clubhouse. Rick was outside and informed me that the girls were already inside practicing. Ha ha, that was funny but sure enough, Adele and Susan were in the midst of a practice game. Patty was also inside but she was just watching. Our game started at 9:30.

this was my afternoon walk
No pictures taken this morning

There were just 4 of us today but we are well used to each other, none of us professional by any means, none of us good on every shot, but we have a lot of fun and laughter. Susan said 2 or 3 times during our 6 games “I love this game!”. Yes, this was our first Monday to play and everyone is willing to go ahead with the game 2 days per week. 😊

Looking back from the south to the park beside us

At noon, I returned home and Bill was already home. I’d seen his truck out the window shortly after 11:30 so I wasn’t surprised to see him. We had some lunch, I was starving, so I fried myself a quesadilla and Bill made a sandwich. There was one thing I had to do after we ate. My blog post from Christmas Day was on the agenda.

Our friends, Lori and Roland, learned last March
that this is not a blm camping area BUT
I've noticed that this set up has been there
for 3 or 4 days already
Hmmm, the city police must be busy

Other than that, once it was finished, I took Gibbs for a walk and then delved into a book I’ve been trying to get interested in for a couple of weeks. Finally, without a puzzle on the go – yet – I managed a few chapters. To stretch my legs, I went for my long walk and tested out my blue tooth ear buds. I was impressed and it was so freeing not to have a cord from my ears to my phone in my back pocket. 😊 I’m a happy camper.

I enjoy this block to walk around

When I returned, I sat outside listening to the last of the podcast I had playing for about 30 minutes and then came indoors for my cup of tea. Bill was charging his electric plane during the time he watched a movie. Gibbs bounced back and forth between the two of us. We had neighbours, short term, pull in across from us with a Reflection, 5th wheel, and Bill went over to chat with them for a while.

the clouds moved in and we may see
some rain by Wednesday

For supper, I air fried large skin on, bone in chicken thighs, fried some of the leftover mashed potatoes, heated gravy on the stove and cooked squash and corn in the microwave. It was good, I’m glad Patty offered us the leftover gravy for our potatoes, although I doubt we’ll eat it all. Bill finished the ice cream and I had a piece of apple pie for dessert. My oh my, I’ll be walking again tomorrow! 😊

Bill suggested I take a picture
because I really enjoyed this
Semi-sweet red wine

This was a great ‘day after’ and we look forward to whatever comes next. PS, it reached 73F/23C today with a low of 52F/12C tonight. Perfect!

My plate of supper tonight, not so full
but the perfect amount
Good night!

Thank you for the visit.

  1. Yum, that supper looks great. I used to love to play pool, mostly in college. It's a great way to sharpen up the hand-eye coordination. Looks like lovely weather.

    1. Thank you. I never ever played pool. A couple of times at our friends house with drinks but I was never any good at hitting the ball. :)

  2. Looks like those guys are trying to be a part of the park next door. Maybe that's why the police haven't checked on them. Your dinner looks delicious. And Gibbs isn't barking because she is giving him the stink eye!! LOL
