Doing Wednesday Right 😀 Coincidence!

Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Feb. 1st Bill was downstairs when I woke up. He had taken Gibbs out after 6:30 and the little snuggle bum was curled up against me. As soon as I moved, I got a puppy dog‘love-lick’ on my mouth. Good thing my lips were sealed! Gibbs' kisses don't bother me. ðŸ˜Š I checked the temperature, which was 47F/8C, but before doing anything else, I hopped in the shower.

A late walk under
a clear blue sky
Good morning!

Bill was ready to go flying on this calm sunny day and I stayed home with Gibbs with my tea and cereal. Today is Coffee Hour at the clubhouse so I didn’t want to work on the puzzle with a room full of people. I found out later that there was only a handful but I had other plans. I made two pie crusts and made a pumpkin pie from our Durham pumpkin that was in the freezer. From the freezer I also pulled out a bag of frozen dark cherries to make Bill’s favourite pie later.

Gibbs' shadow is much cuter
but we each had company on our walk

While the first pie was baking for 35 minutes, Gibbs and I went for our walk. This turned into a real surprise. We met Julie with her male Schnauzer. Cute little thing and he and Gibbs touched noses, very politely. She loved Gibbs, asking his age and what kind he was. Lastly, she asked his name. My reply got a wide-open-mouthed “what?” I laughed and said, “yup, do you love Leroy Jethro Gibbs too?” She reached over and showed me her Schnauzer’s name. “Gibbs”. ♥♥

Gibbs meets Gibbs
You can see on the left that our Gibbs just wants to play ♥

Cute!

What are the chances? We laughed and had a nice chat while I took pictures. Her husband’s name is Pat so the coincidences continued. 😊 Too funny. Back home, the pie was done and the day had warmed up nicely. I made my coffee and took my book outside with Gibbs. The slight wind that I noticed outside was blocked perfectly inside the gazebo. We stayed out there until Bill returned at noon.

The first pie is done

A quick trip into town for a couple of loaves of Roadrunner’s fresh baked bread and then we had lunch. Now time to play. I went to the clubhouse and worked on the puzzle until 3:45. Not a lot of progress but Susan and I made some important adjustments in the border before we left. Bill came over to pay our January electric bill. A cool $33.

No, the bottom border isn't a done deal - yet

For supper, I had Rosy air fry 2 large chicken thighs while I boiled some corn and reheated the leftover stew. I didn’t see the point in cooking more potatoes when there were enough in the stew, so we agreed to clean it up.

A big supper tonight

For dessert, we had a piece of the pumpkin pie with whipped cream (which didn’t want to ‘whip’ well today) and it was a success!

After supper, I baked the cherry pie
These cherries are huge!
Good night!

This was a good day! We got word today that we'll be having company for Happy Hour on Friday! Yay! We haven't seen these friends since 2019/20.

Thank you for your visit.

  1. Oooooh CHERRY PIE!! Both pies look delicious! Is that one of those one-piece-fits-all puzzles? I do love Schnauzers. I miss my little Mandy girl. Looks like Gibbs is the perfect play size for Gibbs!!!

  2. Awww...two Gibbs! Both cuties too. I wonder if Mark Harmon knows his charactor has several (because I'm sure these two aren't the only ones) namesakes?
    Those pies look delicious!
