Making the Most of Our Day

Bayfield, On

On Tuesday, Sept. 10th we all took our time getting up and by 7:30 we were all congregated downstairs in our pj’s. There were 3 different coffee makers for us but I think most of us used the Keurig, since we all brought our own pods. We hung around the cottage, playing group Scrabble and working on a large Crossword puzzle together.

Good morning!
It was chilly, 8C/49F, but the sun came up

By 10:30, we were hungry enough to go for brunch and drove back to Clinton to Bartliff’s Bakery. I had a 2-egg omelet with ham and bacon with home fries and sour dough toast. It was delicious and filling.

We take turns playing on the game board

Brunch was yummy

I’m not used to such big lunches but since we are on the move so much, I feel justified. 😊 We did a few more stops in Clinton and Goderich at thrift stores and found a few things to bring home.

I just liked this building
in Goderich

Let's have ice cream!

Cathy, Donna, Aj, Gayle

At 3:30, to fill in time we went to an ice cream shop for a cone. Yum. Such piggies! We had a reservation for 4:30 at the Taple Top Giant escape room and we were determined to get ourselves out of this locked room. Alexandra, the host, was quite fun and helped us along the way.

Looks like we're rushing in only to get
locked up for an hour!

The challenges were good for our brains and proved that we can work together in such situations. We laughed a lot and grumbled a lot too. We made it out of the room in 59 min15 sec where we were allowed 60 minutes. 😊

We made it out!
Alexandra invited us to put on one of their
funky hats etc.

From there, we drove back to Bayfield for supper and were just in time to get take-out at Out of the Blue Fish and Chips. We brought it back to the cottage to eat and we were stuffed to the gills! Most of us got Bits and Chips and I got a small seafood chowder along with. The chowder was not near the best I’ve tasted but the ‘bits’ of fish were very tasty. After clean up, we modelled our new purchases and displayed the items that were not clothing. I didn’t spend too much today.

A few pictures of Gibbs on the job

Getting tired

Woops!! Asleep on the job.💘

We’re shopped out today and will stay out of the stores tomorrow – I think. 😉 I heard from Bill throughout the day and he and Gibbs had a good day too. The little supervisor slept on the job so he may be fired tomorrow, but I was told he missed Mama. We had a wonderful day, the weather co-operated reaching 22C/72F with clear skies by mid-afternoon. Quite perfect!

Good night!

Thank you for coming by.

  2. Sounds like a good day with some fun and some shopping...which can be fun too.
Gibbs is such a good pup. He seems to adapt to the situation very easily.
BTW, I can sure see the family resemblance!
