Feeling Lazy But……This Weather has us Stuck Inside

Paisley, On

We were up at a decent time on Saturday, Feb. 6th. I think it was 7 when we could no longer stay in bed. The house was quiet, although we knew Wes had been up because the 12v lights were on, lighting up the hallway and the stairwell. We went down and I made my tea. Bill dressed for outside and went out right away and shoveled the sidewalk out to the gate and across in front of the bank next door. The red brick building we are in.

He was a brave soul this morning before 8 am

Upstairs, we read blogs together and I felt hungry around 8:30 so made some oatmeal while Bill had some toast. Just enough to get us through until lunch. I went to the garage; I was anxious to work on the puzzle. I’m really enjoying the hobby and the freedom to do it whenever I want. It isn’t sunny today but with my small light on occasionally, I was getting enough to work away. Bill went downstairs to the basement for a while too.

I'm his supervisor, dontcha know?

In between doing those things, when Susan finished with her laundry, I did our two loads. Like she says, it is nice to have it done and out of the way. Maybe tomorrow I will strip the bed and do the sheets as well. The white liner of my coat needs to be sprayed around the collar and sleeves and perhaps given a wash as well. We’ll see, I hope to walk tomorrow at some point and I’ll need it.

I am so pleased with this picture of my finished puzzle
Doesn't it look 3 dimensional??

At lunchtime, or thereabouts, I heated up the leftover spaghetti sauce and sausage and we had them sloppy joe style over buns. Wow! They were very good and hit the spot. After dishes, Bill went up for a snooze and I went back to the puzzle. It was around 2:30 when I put the last piece in. Tadah! Not too bad at all, finishing it in 3 ½ days, she says, as she pats herself on the back. 😉

A delicious Sunday night supper on a Saturday night

With the clean clothes all put away, I hopped in the shower. The weather was pretty nasty but not because of heavy snowfall today. Today was just bitter cold at -9C/15F but mainly because of the wind chill. The winds were very gusty, between 25 & 40 km/h. I had planned on a walk to drop my library book off and then down further to the Fresh Mart for some bread and a couple of things on sale. My sweet, caring hubby said, ‘No, I don’t want you out in that’.

Because I don't have outdoor pictures today....
Let's have a look at this sweet Hadley, soon to be 1 month old!

She's growing like a little weed
and boy, does she look like her Daddy!

So, I didn’t walk. Outside or inside. For supper tonight, we had roast beef, potatoes, carrots and gravy with onions in Madame IP. It wasn’t the best cut of roast, we cut it off a tenderloin slab we bought, but it was still a really good meal. After dishes, we retired upstairs. Bill went in to watch a movie at 9 with Wes and Susan and when I finish this post, I'll be watching one of mine in our room.

Can you say
'A-d-o-r-a-b-l-e'?

We heard tonight that Hwy 21between Owen Sound and Port Elgin was closed so I guess it was a good thing not to be going too far today. The barricades came down around 5:30. We saw the county truck with the 'closure' signs go south. For us, even though 'barricaded' indoors, this was a good day. I have no real pictures to share today since I didn't get out but here are some that you might enjoy. I hope you are warm, healthy and happy where you are.

Good night!

Thanks for the visit!

  1. It doesn't take much snow to create hazardous conditions with that wind we saw and felt today. We got hardly any, maybe an inch or an inch and a half, but some drifts were crazy.

    1. Whoops, forgot to mention....I'm really impressed with your puzzle work. We have a 500 piece puzzle of a painting from Algonquin Park. Two of us have been picking away at it for a week and a bit and still only have the outside edge done. I don't know if we are just out of practice or it's especially difficult.

    2. You're right about what the wind does to area roads and walkways.
As for the puzzle, let's go with difficult! 😁

  2. I had to do a double take when I looked at the picture of your puzzle, I totally thought it was a 3D puzzle.

  3. You are definitely a whiz at those puzzles! That takes some brain power. Tell Mother Nature it's February and time to ease up a little. It's getting warmer here, so every time I look at your pictures I get a shiver down my spine!!

    1. Well, maybe not brain power but it does take patience, persistence and an incredible interest!! I'm glad your weather is warming up, send some over, okay?

  4. That puzzle is fun with the 3D effect. I have a jigsaw puzzle started but I can assure you, I won't finish it in 3 1/2 days...maybe weeks. :)

Cute kids! Take care, stay well.

I'd love to know what Easton thinks, truly thinks, of his little sister.

  7. Still freezing temperatures here, and from the looks of it those temperatures are going to be here for awhile. I have been walking in the house and on the treadmill the last few days.

What a gorgeous puzzle, you finished it very quickly.

    God bless.
