Park Place RV Park
On Friday, Mar. 25th we turned the a/c on as soon as we got up at 7:15. It didn’t come on for a while but my walk was the hottest yet. I was in shorts, a tee and a long sleeve lightweight hoody and at 60F/16C, I was anxious to get home. π Now, that’s warm!
Because I think this is appropriate for everyone
It is my first picture today
I’m going to have to stop letting Gibbs pick up the little bottles that he loves. If we don’t bring it inside, he rings the bell to go get it. If we do bring it in, and eventually have to take it away because he’s getting pieces off it, he pines at the side of the garbage cupboard. He’s so comical! The morning was spent inside, with the blazing heat on the east side of the Suite, it wasn't a sitting outside day.
Once more, the sunrise was probably a beaut - but we aren't up before 7:30 as a rule |
I’m not
complaining just grateful that we aren’t here beyond April as it will be
unbearable to us Canadians, not used to it. Right now, this is why we come as
it is still cold back home. When Bill had decided that he wasn’t going flying,
I set about making my keto butter tarts regardless. He sat with Gibbs and
stayed out of my way. π
This is the kind of day it was
When it
came time for lunch, after they were made, I fried some bacon for his toasted
bacon sandwich and then fried a quesadilla, of sorts, for me with cold meat,
cheese and avocado. Yum, I need to do that more often. Yesterday, at Albertson’s
I couldn’t find the keto low carb tortillas that I get at Walmart but Bill
found some that were half way there. I want to stock up on the La Banderita
carb counter ones before we head home.
This is the kind of tortillas I
need to find and stock up on
After
cleaning up from lunch, I walked over to start a new puzzle. It won’t be too
challenging, I don’t think, and since Rick says it has to be done before I
leave, I’ve got my work cut out for me! π He said they might have to keep taking pieces away so I can’t
finish it. Ha ha. I worked away for about an hour and a half before hearing
from Lori that they had just exited from Los Algodones and had the ride home.
Making the dough and fitting it into the pan is the finicky part
but for a keto guilt free treat, I'll do it!
They are yummy.
I was ‘on
call’ (sort of) to let Schatzi out if they were going to be late. Knowing it
would be an hour at least for them to return, Bill and I walked over to let the
little pipsqueak out for a break. She is such a darling, quite the difference
from our 23 lb. monster. ♥ We walked back and both of us commented on how it would be ridiculously
hot in a couple of months. The 3 co-hosts will be staying for the duration, a
couple of them have never experienced southern Arizona for the summer.
My crispy lunch
Another yummy treat
Back at
home, I poured a diet Mountain Dew instead of making a cup of tea. It went down
a whole lot smoother today. Then I delved into my Jack Reacher story. I could
sit and read it in one sitting if I didn’t force myself up to do other things.
LOL it is so good! So, the rest of the day was spent like that. Lazy-like.
I was
relieved when I heard from Lori that they had returned home from their day’s
ride, safely. π However, we didn’t hear from our
other ‘kid’ that she got home safe, so I hope that doesn’t mean anything negative.
She’s probably exhausted from two day’s travel and getting unpacked.
When Bill was grilling the burgers,
Mr. Gibbs (who won't get any) waits patiently
For
supper, we went simple again. Seems we do that a lot! Tonight, it was bacon
cheeseburgers, loaded. I couldn’t get anything else in between these buns if I
tried and I wondered if I could squish it enough to get my mouth around it. Oh
yah, no problem! Delicious, as usual! We loaded and turned on the dishwasher
and I was grateful for each and every time the a/c kicked in.
I think I can, I think I can
Open wide!! Third yummy
It’s 7 pm
and I can’t help but think of our friends and family out in the desert dealing
with this heat without it. I’m feeling quite spoiled and wimpy right now. I
think if we didn’t have it, we’d deal better with the heat but because we do,
it hits us harder without it running. LOL
This is what we see out our east windows
My first clue to go out and look to the west
I could
see the eastern sky showing some pink and that only means one thing. The sunset
was a gorgeous one so I ran out and captured it on my camera. This was a really
nice day and I hope you can say the same in your neck of the woods. Wherever
those woods may be!
And I'm sure glad I did
It's almost the same cloud formation as the morning sky*sigh*
Good night!
Thank you
for the visit today.
Made it. What a drive. Had a hair appt an hour after I got home. Gotta love that silly Gibbs, the bottle boy!!! Last time I stayed in Q was 115 in July. Hard to stay cool. Those first timers are in for a hot spell.
ReplyDeleteWe are both glad you all made it home safely. :)
DeleteI can't imagine the heat when we are already wishing it would drop a few degrees.
Eastern Utah is gorgeous this time of year, we spent April there a few years ago doing the big 5.
ReplyDeleteI bet it would be. We aren't asking for the cool temps yet but a happy medium. Ha ha, are we ever happy? The answer is YES!
DeleteI found some Crepini's at Sam's Club this winter that I use instead of tortilla's. They are a very thin egg crepe and have no carbs. I looked for them when we were in Calgary at Christmas but couldn't find them so I have stocked up as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I've not heard of those so will have to look for them. I assume they wrap for a cold lunch as well?
DeleteThe messiest burgers are the best burgers! I grilled for the first time in a long time earlier this week and nothing beats a grilled burger.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of the sunset!
I'm glad you got to barbecue! Nothing like a grilled burger for sure. No other way to make them.
DeleteOh my goodness! That burger sure looked delicious! I like the new puzzle you'll be working to get done! The longer you live in the desert the more used you get to it but summer is never pleasant here (but in retrospect winter in Montana, of which I had 8 of them) was brutal. So now it is reverse. We enjoy winter but summer is unpleasant. Our first year here we thought 95 was so hot. Now 95 is comfortable, lol. I think our blood has thinned down a lot and were we to go to a cold place for winter, we would have a while to adapt. Our AC does run 24/7 here in the summer :)
ReplyDeletebetty
I wanted to tempt everyone with the large picture of the burger! ha ha, I think it worked!
DeleteI'm sure you're right about our bodies get used to it. We don't like the cold of winter either so hope we can still continue to go back and forth for the seasons. :)
My mom used to say "it was nice today....only 105". For Yuma in the summer, 105 with low humidity, is a very nice day. Elva
ReplyDeleteWow!
DeleteThe weather is improving slowly here in Canada. Bit chilly here today, but the snow is almost all gone and that is just wonderful.
ReplyDeletePoor Gibbs will miss picking up his bottles.
God bless.
Good to hear! I know it will change a few times in Ontario with snow, rain, milder, colder etc. until we get home and probably even after until mid May. :)
DeletePoor Gibbs is right, I'll try to steer him away from the bottles!
Temperature is still see-sawing either side of the Freeze Mark.
ReplyDeleteDid a summer trip in 08 to Texas then Arizona. In 12 did a Northern trek to Wyoming. The heat was unbearable. My Heat Meter showed 133 F.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Typical Ontario temperatures, well, typical Canada temps actually. :)
DeleteThat would be ridiculously unbearable! Wow!
